Not bad

Colonel_Izziโ€”March 22, 2026

This is a decent looking little truck that goes pretty fast. It has a basic but functional steering trim control with definite clicks that that we were able to use to get it to drive straight (just needed a couple of clicks to the left for ours; yours might be different). The controls are easy to use, but it would be nicer I think to have a pistol grip transmitter, or even just dual sticks, though for younger kids the bundled "toy grade" controller with simple forward/back left/right buttons might in fact be better, and the mechanics are probably binary anyway (no servos here, though I wouldn't expect them at this price point). You can still feather the buttons to get a bit more fine control but that's it, and the turning circle is very wide anyway. Just think about who you are buying this for. Kids that have reached or are approaching 8 years old should be fine with and will almost certainly appreciate a better quality more proportional control system much more. Further to the question of the intended recipient is the battery cover for both the truck and the controller. They are retained by a small screw. This is a good trade-off for younger kids who might still try to put batteries in their mouths or whatever, but it can be a big inconvenience for anyone else for multiple reasons. You can use the controller battery cover without the retaining screw. It snaps down just fine without it. But the battery cover on the truck itself just wont stay closed without it. Again, these trade-offs make sense for the youngest kids, but not those at the upper end of the recommended age range. One issue that affects all age groups though is the high-speed low-torque gearing this truck is in. We've seen the front wheels get stuck in all sorts of places that don't look like they should be an issue, yet the truck has been unable to pull itself out. It's fun on large flat surfaces, but in carpeted areas with any sort of clutter you'll be running around rescuing it all the time. And off-road? No. It gets stuck even on small rocks easily and is entirely useless on all but golf green grade grass. You'll see it sitting on some grass in one of the pictures attached to this review. It wont even move on that surface. Not even a fraction of an inch. It's a truck in name only. But for 20 bucks (at the time of writing)? It's still going to bring younger kids some fun for hardly any money at all. The rechargeable battery is simple to charge, the truck drives fine on smooth surfaces, and it's fast enough to impress the youngest youngsters I think. Have an 8 year old kid though? Or older? Get something at least a little better. Read more

Buy this car!

Juliaโ€”April 10, 2026

This is such an awesome toy car, I think the best that Iโ€™ve ever played with through my life years. Usually cars are big and bulky and slow to maneuver, not this thing! Itโ€™s so quick and speedy and the response control from the remote to car is very quick! The car also just runs very smoothly! My 3 year old got the hang of it very quick and it was easy for him to use and control it compared to other cars weโ€™ve gotten him. We liked it so much we also the adults wanted to play with it. Such a nifty car for a great deal! Itโ€™s smaller, but durable and quick! Battery is just the size of a double AA battery so it needs to be charged more often. Came with 2 batteries, the rechargeable battery, and also a small screw driver to be able to put in batteries! Great toy and gift option for a small boy! Recommend! Read more

Good for young kids, but weak power and clunky battery access limit the fun.

Harnellโ€”March 29, 2026

This is a basic 2WD RC truck with separate forward/reverse and left/right controls, low torque, and a rechargeable battery. The controls take a little practiceโ€”especially turning while movingโ€”but a 4-year-old should be able to pick it up fairly quickly. The turning radius is quite large, so navigating tight spaces requires frequent backing up and repositioning. With only 2WD and limited power, climbing ability is minimal. The product listing claim that it โ€œeasily cruises over flat dirt, gravel, short grass, and indoor floorsโ€ accurately reflects its real-world limits. Construction is mostly lightweight plastic. While the front and rear axles offer about an inch of travel, the suspension doesnโ€™t add much given the truckโ€™s overall performance constraints. That said, build quality and capability are in line with others in this price range. Younger kids likely wonโ€™t notice whatโ€™s missing, but an older childโ€”especially one with prior RC experienceโ€”may find it underwhelming. The biggest drawback is the battery setup. Both the controller and the truck use screw-secured battery covers. While this is a minor inconvenience for the controller (since those batteries last months), itโ€™s a bigger issue for the truck. With only about 30 minutes of runtime per charge, youโ€™ll frequently need to remove the screw, disconnect the battery, and plug it in to recharge using the included cable. A simple external USB charging port would have made this much more user-friendly. Read more
