This mat comes rolled up and it is very difficult to unroll without poking yourself with the sharp spikes on the underside. Be careful! It says to run hot water over it and it’s easier to unroll but I just got some heavy objects ready to lay on top once it was rolled out and I was able to start unrolling and sit on it until it was weighted down. This product is a very thick vinyl. It comes rolled up and once uncurled it is difficult to keep uncurled, The heat of a blow dryer is in effective in flattening it. I had to put bricks on the edges and leave them there for several days, then flip it and do it again. Because of this and due to the thickness, my office chair tends to get stuck if I roll off the edge. It is a fairly large mat so this is not generally a problem but it does prevent me from rolling on and off the mat easily. Read more

I work from home at a large desk that includes both my work and personal computers. I'm a heavy man who sits in a large, executive office chair. My home office has patterned carpet. I needed a large floor mat that wouldn't slip but would allow my chair to slide freely. That's what I got - mostly. The treads on the bottom of this thing are very long and painfully sharp. When you pull the mat out of the box it is tightly rolled up. Those two factors combined with the large size means you really need two people to unroll this mat and put it in place. Once it's in place you need to stack piles of heavy books on it for a couple of days to flatten it out. But once you've got it in position, it definitely isn't going anywhere. I've been using this mat for a few months now, and it's almost perfect for my needs. Its durability, quality, and usefulness are not at all in question. The only problem is that the spiky treads are a little too long for this carpet. What that means in practice is that in time divets or craters will form in the spots where your chair wheels most often sit. The spikes stand upright rigidly, but the portions of the mat between the spikes sink down to the carpet level. It means it takes extra effort to move the chair wheels past that cratered point. Is it a huge deal? No it isn't. It's much better than trying to glide your chair across carpet. But it's mildly annoying and leads me to believe that this mat is designed for regular high-profiled textured carpets rather than patterned, looped, or berber carpets. Read more

I bought this because it was cheaper than most other brands, but I surely got what I paid for. I placed this on a berber rug, you know, very tight knit short haired rug. The floor protector when it arrived came rolled up and it took a day for it to relax, with a lot of effort on my part to flatten it out. I even had to place a space heater next to it to get it to relax! And even with its dimples on the underside, it still won't remain in place. Always moving around when I move my chair. I had to screw it to the floor! And my office chair leaves dimples in the plastic making it very difficult to move around. And now it has multiple cracks in it which I've had to tape to keep it from disintegrating. Simply put, this is a really cheap and barely usable piece of crap. Don't waste your money on it. Spend a little more and get a solid (not flexible) floor protector. You'll be glad you did. Read more

We got our first one for my husband and his computer station. They are easy to move and weren’t slippery unless they were recently mopped. Our second one, we used as a food catcher for our baby. We got a bigger one to help catch any thrown food and it worked out great. It will be nice after we are done having kids and need it for another computer station. Read more

I bought this and it arrived quickly. Good seller. However, since this is a heavy duty, much thicker mat, it arrives tightly rolled up in a long carton. It has been out now for two full days, with things sitting on it etc - and I still cannot use it yet - it keeps curling back up... I was thinking of getting it flat with the weights again, and then maybe applying a hot blow dryer to it or something? Not sure - but I like the thickness and the feel so far. Hopefully will be just as good once I finally get it into place. WARNING - make SURE you have a second person help you unroll it to get weights onto the corners - otherwise it is a futile attempt LOL Read more
