I wanted to get a new digital clock since my old clock radio went on the fritz. We received this one and at first thought it would be difficult to set up so it sat in the box for 2 days. But when we did set it up it was super easy. PROS: The clock has large letters/numbers making it very easy to read even from across the room. The letters/numbers are brightly lite up with a button that allows you to brighten it or dim it way down. Along with the time, the clock displays the day of the week, month, date and year as well as the temperature in the room. The clock also has ray to use alarm clock settings. CONS: The clock lights up the room even on the dimmer settings so if that’s a problem for you, I would not use it in your bedroom. Overall, it’s a very nice clock and we are enjoying it very much. I wanted a clock for my home office that was easy to see from anywhere in the room. This clock is awesome. It shows what I need in one glance, day of the week in full, time, temp of the room and month and date in straight forward font. I can even glance at it from the other room and see all the detail clearly. I am not close to being elderly or with Alzheimer or dementia, so I can only imagine what a plus this would be for a parent or Grandparent suffering from that. I've had compliments from 2 different people that saw the clock from the kitchen and commented how great it was. It also comes with 2 USB ports that I use to charge my phone during the day. This is a great clock BUT keep in mind that it IS electric with a battery back-up. It can be hung on a wall or set-up on a desk, like I have it it. It has 5 different brightness settings that are easily controlled by a bar on top of the clock and can be set for at least 1 alarm...it may be 2 but I don't use it for an alarm clock. Exceeds my expectations! I am sitting about 12 feet from the clock and can easily read the time, day, date and temperature. The temperature is a great addition to the piece and registers exactly as my high end kitchen thermometer. It is dimmable or can be left at a brightness that makes it visible and readable from a considerable distance. It is very easy to set up even though some of the instructions might not be worded to the taste of some people. I think they've explained the setup and use very well. The alarms are easily set and will be very useful for those who decide to use the clock on a bedside table. It can be used as a bedside alarm or mounted on the wall. I've yet to determine where I'll put it to the best use. In my case, I was simply looking for a CLOCK that can be easily read from a good distance. It is just before 6:00 pm on January 6th. I'm adding to my review because this clock deserves the accolades. MOST impressed! My grandchildren walked into my office for the very first time a few days ago and their first comments were about the clock! Forget the fact that I had not seen them for almost a year!!! Pros - What’s on the screen is clear and easy to read from a distance. And nothing flashes. - The buttons are labeled very intuitively. When you want to make a change months from now, you won’t have to search for the instructions. - If you want to set a time back five minutes, you can do it. No having to go forward fifty-five minutes. - One of the five brightness settings is sure to work for you. Cons - If you’ve already looked at the other reviews, you know what I’m going to say. The mounting system was designed by somebody who said “that should work” and then never tested it. The clamp that attaches to the wall comes with six tiny little pins. A piece of Scotch tape would be just as secure. If you don’t pull the clamp from the wall while you are sliding the clock down onto the peg that sticks out from the clamp, you most certainly will when you later need to remove the clock. - The peg that you slide the clock down onto is too big. I took an Xacto knife and shaved a bit off each side to make it fit. -The temperature reading isn’t even close I’m not using it as an alarm clock so I have nothing to say about that feature. Added nearly two years later The clock is fast by about one minute per month. Nearly half of the characters on the screen are losing their brightness. I cannot express how big a hit this gift has been with older friends and family. I am now up to six total purchased. I first bought one for my mom whom suffered from mild memory problems and depression due to lack of mobility and we got one of these to set in front of her so she could always be aware of the what the time of day was and what the day/date were. It was a great improvement and caught the attention of others who would come visit who asked me to order one for them.
