The fairy lights (12 individual solar powered lids attached to light up strings) are just what I was looking for to put in my antique lanterns outside. The strings are attached to the solar light lids. They lit up immediately after opening the box. My only complaint is that the strings are very thin and when trying to put them in the tight space and/or maneuver around fencing, several strings broke and the lights on several strings no longer work. I have told the company and they did reply but do not sell smaller quantities other than 12 pack. Overall, I am delighted that most of my lanterns arranged around my backyard are now are lit up at night! There is an "On and off" switch, but that doesn't have to be changed every day, keep them "On" and make sure the solar lids are facing sunlight. Read more

These are quite amazing and gorgeous. Only had them for a couple of weeks but so far so good. Will report back on how long they last -- that's always the issue with cheap solar things, they usually break pretty fast. But these seem well sealed and I have them inside a jar, with only the solar panel area exposed to the elements. Fingers crossed. Read more

We were looking to add some simple solar lighting, mostly atmosphere lighting around the patio and pool. We looked at a good number of these mason jar LED solar lights. But we decided on these due to the better reviews. And so far, we're glad we did. The ONLY issue we had was with 2 of the 12 lids. Someone started wrapping the LED strand in one direction, then started wrapping in another. This made it very difficult to unwrap and not break the strands. But we managed, and everything worked just fine. We removed the clear protective cover from the solar panels, removed the battery tabs, placed the strands in 16 ounce ball mason jars, and set them in the sun. They got roughly 4 1/2 hours of direct sunlight, and remained lit all night long. We tried these solar lights in a 32 ounce mason jar. Not enough LED's to make it look right. 8 ounce was too small as there are too many LED's in the jar. So 16 ounce was the best choice. We got them from Walmart as they are WAY more inexpensive than on here. And thus far, they've done very well through thunderstorms and heavy rain. And remain lit from dusk til dawn. And remain as bright all that time too. If you're looking for a nice little DIY solar lighting project to add a little atmosphere. This is a good bet. You can hang them, set them on a table, the ground, patio perimeter, or pool (we have 6 on the deck steps leading to the pool and 6 around the patio perimeter). Read more

I am very disappointed. I keep trying to buy these types of lights from Amazon, but every time I order them I get STATIC lights (lights that don't sparkle, twinkle OR flash!)... NOT twinkling lights, or even intermittent flashing. I spend a lot of time reading reviews and researching them and everyone says how magical they are and how they twinkle and are wonderful.. but when I receive them they are just static lights that sit in a jar and the are anything but magical. I am so frustrated that I can't find actual twinkle lights / fairy lights / Firefly lights- whatever you want to call them-but none of them actually twinkle. Are so many people actually so enthralled with a simple lighting & Illumination in a jar that they think that that is magical? Or is it me? Am I just being super picky? Can anyone, please, point me in the direction of ACTUAL twinkling/twinkly fairy lights....that are NOT STATIC?
