When we got our OralB IO (2nd generation), they came with one spare brush head each. The original head wore out fairly quickly, the bristles turned white which indicated that they needed to be replaced. The IO also has an orange light that comes on after so much time goes by, it's just a timer and has nothing to do with the actual brush head. You need to manually reset the brush by holding the MODE button down for a few seconds. So don't expect these to reset the head-replacement-indicator on your brush. They seem to be a good replacement for the heads on our IO toothbrushes. They fit well, and seem to function just like the original. They do look different, but we liked that they each come with a sort of travel cover. Other than that, they're about the same softness and seem to spin about the same as the ones that came with our brushes. Very happy with them, I almost didn't get the Oral B IO because I knew they really ream you on the replacement heads but these SAVED ME! They're cheap, you get 12 for $24 instead of 8 for $40, which I think is a good enough savings to justify them not being the exact same as the ones made by Oral B. Read more

Unfortunately, these iO Toothbrush Replacement Heads were disappointing. We expected the bristles to be evenly trimmed, but they aren’t—especially in the center of the head, where some bristles don’t make proper contact with the teeth. As a result, brushing doesn’t feel as effective as it should. I hope future versions improve in quality to match what’s advertised. Read more
