I spent days scouring the internet for LED track lights with high CRI and great flexibility and I'm sure that these lights are the best possible choice. The manufacturer was also extremely responsive, with useful answers to technical questions. Let me tell you why these are so good, and some important things that they don't tell you in the product description: * 90+ CRI - I won't even consider an LED under 90 or colors just look wrong (CRI is not the same as color temperature) * Continuous color temperature settings between 2700K and 6500K, via remote control * Continuous bright settings up to 1200 lumens (using 12W of power) via remote control * Adjustable beam width via adjustable collar on each head * Highly adjustable tilt and swivel Here's the parts they don't say: The remotes will adjust whichever lights are powered up and within the range of the remote, and then the lights will *retain those settings* when you power them off, either via the remote or by powering off the track. That means that each group of lights can have their brightness and color temperature set to different levels, just by leaving the other groups of lights powered off when making adjustments. The only setting that won't be retained is powering them off via the remote - when you turn the track power off and then later turn it on, the lights will always come on. * For the settings to be retained, you must wait at least 5 seconds between making the configuration change and powering off the lights. IMPORTANT: If you power the lights on, and then power them off within 5 seconds it will reset the settings to 4000K and full brightness. A minor inconvenience which can be corrected with the remote if that ever happens. Mentioned in other reviews, but bears repeating: You can pair the remotes with whichever lights you want. They come out of the box paired to all, but you can unpair by powering off the track and then powering it back on and then holding down the On button on the remote within 5 seconds until the lights flash. Likewise, you can pair the remote with a group of lights by powering the track with those lights off, and then powering it on and holding down the Set button on the remote within 5 seconds until the lights flash. I replaced many 50W halogen track light heads with these. Those halogen heads were at 2700K and produced 800 lumens. I could match the color temp easily. In some locations, I could use 3 LED heads at full power to replace a group of 4 halogen lights, giving 3600 lumens of brightness at 36 watts to replace 3200 lumens of brightness at 200W. In other locations, I turned down the brightness on the LED heads to match the 800 lumens of the halogens. I assume that means that the LED heads are using only 8W of power, rather than 50W from the halogen heads. Read more
a year later and its still holding up great. bright or dim, whatever you want. love the smoothness of the transition between brightness settings, also love the smoothness of the transitions between warmth settings. the two remotes can either be used for separate lights or all lights together, operated by either remote. we did it that way and have one on each side of the area. it was expensive, but worth it. very functional. i was worried that over time the functionality would go away, but here we are and it's still going. great choice. Overall they are great and do what you want with them - dim, change color temperature, zoom wash to spot (15 - 60 degrees - not on remote, manually on fixture only), on and off. The housings are aluminum, which is great. The rear cover is plastic and is only attached by friction. As a result, several were loose in the box when I opened it. Fortunately, none were broken and they were pretty easy to pop back into the end of the tube, although they did have a tendency to pop back out occasionally. Maybe a better means of adhesion or fit would be beneficial for these. Also, the electronics inside are just inside where the rear cover attaches, and you can see and hear that they are not attached inside and rattle around when you move the fixture. Not a problem once on the track and stationary, but a weak spot as the wiring takes the weight of the electronics and the movement will weaken the wiring eventually. You are able to program the remotes to control more than the one set of fixtures they are supplied with, and can actually control subsets, but the instructions for any of these options are not included in the instructions. That would be a great benefit to include. There is a 'setup' button on the remotes, but no instructions on how to use it. Certainly a great value for the price point. Hopefully tariffs won't price them into the stratosphere. Read more
These track lights reminds me of what I have seen in art galleries and museums. The light has a focus ring that allows one to bring a bit of emphasis on a particular spot. And if you overtighten the focus...like I did...simply remove the bit of the light that just under it to easily loosen it. I recommend these lights! Read more
The lights are splendid -- perform exactly as described -- and customer service answered promptly and courteously with the following instructions: The set contains two remotes, as illustrated. The two remotes as received control all ten lights. If you want one remote to control, say, six lights, and the other to control the remaining four, follow these steps, most easily done with two tracks: Let's call the remotes Remote A and B, and the lights 1-6 and 7-10. Turn on all ten lights, (switch on the track(s)), then turn them off (switch off), and turn them on again. Quickly press the "ON" button on Remote A. When the lights blink, Remote A will be disconnected from the lights. Turn the lights on, off, and on again. Quickly press the "ON" button on Remote B. When the lights blink, Remote B will be disconnected from the lights. Turn lights 1-6 on, off, and on again. Quickly press the "Set Up" button on Remote A. When lights 1-6 blink, Remote A will control these lights. Turn lights 7-10 on, off, and on again. Quickly press the "Set Up" button on Remote B.
