Popped within 2 minutes of my dog playing with it. The inner ball was not big enough for the outer fabric so it was super easy for my dog to grab and throw around. Defeats the purpose of the hearding ball. Would NOT purchase this, spend the extra few dollars and get a better quality product. Read more

I have a very high energy, athletic, young, 20lb terrier who needs a lot of exercise to keep him from making bad decisions out of boredom. He already has an18" herding ball that he loves to play with, though he chewed the strap off pretty quickly despite our best efforts. He''s still obsessed with the zipper, but can't really get his teeth to it so it's survived his best efforts. I bought this because of the bells - it was my own misunderstanding, for some reason I thought the bells were *inside* of the ball and inaccessible to the dog. I realized my mistake when it arrived and figured we'd try it out anyway. The box included a very cheap but functional foot pump to inflate the ball, which only took a couple of minutes and we were zipped up and ready to go outside. (There's also a removal tool and an extra plug, which are appreciated!) Well, the bells being attached to the handle made him get obsessed with taking them off, so within a minute or two I had to remove them so he didn't cut himself or get a tooth stuck somewhere. At that point he just turned his attention to the handle. Within a play session or two the brass grommet the snap hook for the bells went through was missing. I'm sure he'll manage to do enough damage to it to take the handle off eventually. The ball's zipper is well covered and he can't get his teeth down to it, though he certainly wishes he could. Verdict: Fun as a herding ball, but if you have an aggressive chewer, take the bells off! Read more

I have a Shetland Sheepdog who constantly has energy to burn. Someone suggested I look into getting a herding ball, as plain old fetch just wasn't cutting it on the mental stimulation. I'll never go back. My dog is OBSESSED with this toy and we use it every day. He caught on to it immediately, although I did remove the bell because it was quite annoying as it is very loud. He's a fairly small dog, weighing about 20 pounds and about 12" at the shoulder. This ball is double his size, but he still pushes it around with ease and loves to drag it by the handle on the cover. The cover seems very durable, but doesn't seem to be completely puncture proof as the ball already has a small leak in it. Luckily, the ball comes with a patch kit and pump to fill it with air as needed. The cover is also slightly larger than the ball itself, so there is some give on the cover (not shown in the listing photos or description). But this might actually be for the best considering it got a small hole so quickly. It's a very fun toy for both owner and pet! Read more
