I have used this type of fittings a lot. They are great in a pinch. We got these to carry with us when we go four wheeling. We use hydraulic steering and if there was ever an item that could ruin the weekend it would be a blown steering line and that would not be good. These fittings are easy to use as long as you can make a good cut on the line or at least be able to clean up the ends. A little oil on the tip of the insert and these will definitely get you home. Then once you get another line made, you can removes these, inspect for any damage, and reuse them. That makes these a fantastic purchase. I don't know of anyone that carries a mobile crimper and all the ends so this is a great option. I got the 3/8" or #6 size because that is the size I need the most for my rig. I will also be getting the other sizes, #8 and #4 to make sure I have all my lines covered. The connection is a standard 37 degree JIC and has so many uses that these are priceless. They do take a little patience and some getting used to, but they work great. I would definitely recommend these if you deal with hydraulics and want a quick easy way to fix a punctured line or to repair a bad end. Great product. Read more

They're very heavy-duty, and are a huge time saver. I keep a set in my tractor tool box for emergencies. Pros: When a hydraulic hose blows on a job, it no longer means lost hours of work getting a replacement hose. Just put these on, and you can replace the hose the next time you're going that way (you could probably just leave these on permanently, but I like having the set on hand rather than in use). Because of how these kits are assembled, you have the option of replacing either a male or female hose end, or cutting out a blown area in the middle of a line and reconnecting the two ends. I've been using field repair fittings for decades. I found these to be like all the others. They fit correctly and have a reasonable zinc coating. Having two 3/8" in the set is a good idea for our use since 3/8 is our most common size. They do the job, do it well and I'll have these for MANY years to come. These can be installed by normal people and allow you to keep going until you can get a new replacement hose. This kit does not come with instructions just the components. I ordered these because our Kubota had a chafed hose. Well the hose blew this weekend. This repair coupling fixed it. Please be aware this comes with zero instructions and you will need a bench vise to make the repair.It works but is not an easy assembly. Instructions would be nice... Read more
