Bank was wanting over $100 per year for storage. I purchased this one. ----- I store my backup disks in it. Not the safest, by I keep a separate backup disk in the car. If the car burns, then I will probably burn, too. Then why need a backup disk. ---------------- I had a few other items in the bak vault, but why keep an item in a bank vault. While this safe appears to be of good quality is is smaller than one would need for document keeping. A regular size binder doesn't fit inside. I had to take out the shelf and stand the binder up which will make access difficult as I now have to empty out the items in front to be able to take out the binder standing up against the back wall. SO incredibly cheaply made and poor quality! Opened a turn immediately. The safe could easily be cut open with any reciprocating saw. I was so disappointed when I opened this up. You can press from the inside and see the wall flex slightly on the outside! The holes where the bolts lock into are covered with a cheap chrome-plated plastic cover. The panel is a very flimsy feeling plastic material. I doubt that it would stand up to fire. I’m thinking contents probably wouldn’t survive a fire either. This thing most certainly is NOT waterproof. Water resistant maybe, but there is no seal. If there were some sort of water issue, there’s nothing to keep water out and the contents inside would be ruined. If you need something simple to temporarily store items under a lock and key, this might be okay. It basically provides the same level of protection as placing your valuables in a simple filing cabinet with a lock. Not much better. Do not recommend! Read more
