Wire Connectors Are Small if Your Junction Box has Solid Copper Wires

The fixture looks nice, particularly at this low price point. However, keep in mind that if your junction box has solid copper wires rather than twisted ones, the wire connectors provided are rather small. The fixture has two twisted black and two twisted white copper wires. The wires from the junction box in my house are solid copper, which are thicker than twisted wire. The provided wire connectors were too small for each pair of the two twisted wires and the solid copper wires to firmly be joined. I purchased two light fixtures, and wasn't confident using the provided connectors when I was installing the first fixture, so I had to make a special trip to buy larger ones to finish the installation. With the larger connectors, installation was simple and only took about 15 minutes. Read more

This ceiling light is a similar design to one that has a glass globe. The fixtures have been chromed and finished to match the exterior and the material is strong. Some current design images show the use of Edison bulbs in many light fixtures and we bought these because it saves us from removing and cleaning the globes that always had bugs in them that were drawn to the heat and light.
