Buyer needs to know thread size of their 3rd valve slide stop nuts
Rating Summary: These stop-screw nuts have a very nice appearance, but will only work on some Bach Stradivarius trumpets. Product is a 5 star but my review is down graded to 4-star because the advertisement should warn potential buyers that they need the know the specific thread size on their trumpet. Review Summary: IF you have a newer model Bach Stradivarius then these should work well for you. IF you have an older model Bach Stradivarius then these will probably NOT work well for you. The problem is, I don't know (and the folks making this product probably do not know) the year that Bach changed the thread specification for these stop screw nuts. In my case, these stop nuts do NOT work on my Bach Stradivarius trumpet which I bought used around 1994 so I do not know how old it is (probably built in the 1985-1990 time frame), and the thread pattern on my trumpet's stop nuts are #5-40. For comparison, another reviewer indicated that these stop nuts worked well on their 2015 year model Bach Stradivarius. I have spent nearly 2 hours researching and failed to determine when that change was made but my rough guess is that change was made in the 2000-2010 time frame. Technical Information: These stop nuts have a thread pattern of #4-40. Older model Bach Stradivarius trumpets seem to have a #5-40 thread pattern. Read more
