Perfect for Blades Blunt or Sharp
I love this Watayo product although I was only able to discern slight differences in grit between blue and green. I have used both blocks on my feder and on my Hanwei Rhinelander bastard sword - seen in the photos, above. Both blades have some pretty significant burrs and the blocks did not suffice to remove them. Both blades were used when I got them and had some rust - the blocks cleaned up all but the most pitted rust spots - and rust removal is an ongoing thing with steel blades. I like that the gummy blocks polished the steel as opposed to scoring it as did the 3M block. Compared to a 3M 180 grit sanding block, the 3M product felt grittier than either the blue or the green gummy block and produced rougher looking results, but that was an apples to oranges comparison as the blocks are made for different purposes and vary in composition. Update: I tried the blocks out on my EDC knife that'd gotten scuffed and tape goo stuck on it from frequent use as a box-cutter, pry-bar, etc. Cleaned it up beautifully. Very pleased. Read more
