I have a larger ultrasonic cleaner but use it for other things. It's a pain to get out and I didn't love the idea of putting my retainers in it. This one is perfect. It's very compact and has a clean, simple design that's nice enough to keep out all the time. Extremely easy to use and wash out in between uses. Just a press of a button and it starts cleaning. It's also very quiet. I drink a lot of coffee and have been running it in the morning right after I take my retainers out and then refill and run again at night before bed. My retainers are clear and never have any smell or funky taste. I also appreciate the sturdy brush that comes with it. It's a great value if you have any kind of retainers that you have to regularly wear. I’ve been using my machine for two weeks now and love it. It leaves my oral appliance good and clean. I had been using an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and a UV sanitizer, both much bigger. Should not advertise that it is for cleaning dentures...it is not big enough to hold dentures. I was excited to get this to clean my husband's dentures and was disappointed when I saw how little the "bowl" was. Even if I took the basket out it would still not be big enough.
