In our household, both the humans and big clumsy puppy dogs get a lot of scrapes, scratches, and wounds during playtime. We keep a few normal band-aids around for the smaller stuff but when we have bigger cuts and scrapes we're firm believers in athletic tape and gauze pads to create custom bandages that won't fall off when the human/pup patient jumps right back into playtime. Normally, we purchase whatever the local pharmacy's store brand athletic tape is because it's cheap, but there are two noticeable downsides to this: 1. The tape's ability to stick to itself is usually subpar 2. Tearing the tape usually requires scissors or biting the edge to cut a piece off the roll. With this tape neither of those problems are an issue. The specially cut edges of the tape (it looks like a saw blade on both sides) make tearing this tape INCREDIBLY easy. So much so even the kids were able to do it with ease, which is good because that's preferable to them seeking out a pair of scissors and trying to awkwardly cut the tape after they've already applied it to themselves. The other notable improvement of this tape over the store brand is the strength of the adhesive. Usually we have to reapply bandages because tension on the tape causes it to lose its stickiness and the end of the tape starts to peel away. With the kids that means we're having to redo the dressing more often than we should and with the pups it means they start chewing on the end of the tape sticking up...which leads to us having to redo the dressing. But this stuff REALLY sticks to itself. It doesn't start to come undone after a little bit of pull or pressure on the dressing. It might be a little bit more expensive per roll than the normal athletic tape we normally buy (but only by about $00.50 per roll) but I'm guessing we'll go through less of it based on having to redo the wrapping less often, so ultimately this stuff might be far more cost effective. The box arrives with six individually sealed rolls of soft cloth athletic tape. The tape itself is well made, easy to unroll and tear, and sticks very well with apparent water/sweat resistance.. Having athletic tape in the home is something I recommend everyone having, you simply never know when you'll need it and it's far better to use than messing with ace bandages and those clips. I mostly use it to wrap wrists/ankles etc before working out, but it also makes for a great makeshift bandage if you toss some gauze on the wound and wrap this tape around it. Basically, it's good atheistic tape, at a decent value cost, and with 6 sizeable rolls you'll have plenty of tape for a while. I currently have no reason not to rate this 5-stars and I recommend it. I will update this review if my thoughts change in the future. Read more
Each roll of tape is individually wrapped to keep the adhesive 'fresh'. I am using this tape to wrap a few of my toes together. I have a broken toe and have been wrapping it for about 11 weeks. I wanted to change to a sturdier tape now that my bone has begun to heal. I was able to easily tear the roll long-wise since it was a bit wide for my needs. I have found it a tad difficult to tear from the roll itself without a good amount of pulling and some fraying which is normal for this type of type. It sticks well, but not sticky enough that it can't be removed easily. Read more
Used this tape to wrap fingers during baseball. It is wide but not too wide. Easy to tear or cut. It is not too thick but a few rounds would be required for finger wrap. I can see this being used in numerous sports such as gymnastic, boxing, basketball, where you want to prevent yourself from finger injury either by scraping with the equipments, or prevent your finger being hit or bent accidentally. I think it can be also used to wrap handles of sport equipment, to increase grip or softness etc. Came 6 tapes in one box, very nicely packaged. Read more
This is a thinner athletic tape, so yes, it is "easy to tear" as another reviewers have praised. I can tell from other reviews that they come from people that don't use athletic tape for athletics. It's not a terrible thing as this still has a purpose thought. I like using it for applications like using it to hold my shinguards up. For that, I prefer the thinner tape since I don't need anything thick or strong. For taping my ankle though, this can still work but I just have to go over the same areas twice. Read more
