Everything comes packed neatly in a box and a woven basket is included so you can arrange the basket however you want and add other items or subtract whatever you may not want. The pink theme is soft and sweet, not vivid obnoxious pink. There’s a ton of stuff, my favorites are the book, the hooded towel and the lovey. The book is a "first 5 years" book which normally go for about $30 so I was shocked that it was an actually good book rather than a throwaway. I was anticipating the cloth items to be thin and cheap and they are not, the towel is plush and the clothes are a good weight. The jammies are a little on the thin side but as this is for a newborn, most newborns are swaddled or in a sleep sack so the thinner weight is better. There is a balloon included which is nice so you can inflate and tie on the basket. I honestly feel like the value on this basket is spot on because you don't have to pick multiple items and curate your own basket, literally everything is included. The main appeal of this set is that it's supposed to save time. It’s meant for someone who doesn’t have the opportunity to shop around for individual items. However, there is still some effort involved with this set. Sadly, it's not ready to gift right away. All of the items to create the basket come individually wrapped, so it's something you’ll need to arrange and assemble yourself. While it may save a little time shopping, I don’t feel the included items fully justify the price. However, it does give you a bit of flexibility. You can choose to add all of the pieces or even set aside some of them for a future basket. You can even add other non-included items to better personalize the gift for the recipient. Overall, the quality of the items is mostly good. The woven basket is thick and sturdy, but it a little smaller than I had anticipated it to be. Everything fit without an issue, but I do think the set could have benefited from a few more essentials. The receiving blankets are silky soft but very thin. They look and feel like flat sheets. Fortunately, they are fairly large and could be doubled up, but thicker blankets would be more practical, especially for winter babies. I also would have liked to have seen additional basics included, such as washcloths, more burp cloths, or a couple of long-sleeved pajamas. The best item for me was the milestone book. The quality is excellent! The spiral-bound book includes a hardcover sleeve, and covers milestones from pregnancy through age five. It even includes pocket folders for storing photos, keepsakes, notes, or certificates. That addition definitely helped add value to the set.
