You dont need to be a teacher to use this. There are so many uses too - pointing at the cat, pointing at trash cans for kids to take in the house, pointing at documents for co-workers to read, scratching parts of the body which you cant usually reach, even itching the inside of your nose. If you want to start pointing at everything, this is the item for you.
