There are a lot of choices out there for these kind of lighters and also quite a range of prices. In my experience, a high price for a product is not necessarily a guarantee for the quality and reliability of a product, especially for common, every day goods. So I figured that it would be best for me to start with something less expensive, at least to have something to compare with a future, eventually more expensive product (in case that this one turns out to be a piece of junk). I've only used one of the three, and it worked for a couple of weeks just with the initial charge (which was fairly quick), and it's still going strong. So far all the lights show the maximum level of charge and I have no ideea when it will need to be recharged. I think the colors are nice. Usually there is a higher price for the most popular colors, and if buying two is a better deal, they are less often available in the most popular colors. I think I've got a good deal here as far as the quality, the price and the color choices. Time will tell about the reliability. Months later: still good. It lasted a long time with one charge, but once you go down a blue light, the charge is going down pretty fast. As long as you D'ONT EXPECT all the blue lights showing the charge level to last as long time as the first one, this is still a good deal. Read more

First time buying a set of these, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but these actually work pretty decently. As other reviewers mention, it takes a few seconds longer than a flame lighter to ignite something, but it's not a deal killer. Worst case I found it a brand-new candle with wax-covered wicks that took maybe 5-7 seconds to ignite. Longer than a regular lighter, but not enough that I consider it even inconvenient In playing around it lights most flammable stuff easily, including paper, so it's a replacement for a flame lighter in 85% of cases. I also like that I don't need as many cans of butane lying around, and charge time seems OK, but it recharges quickly and easily. Durability is an unknown, as I've only had them a week so far. I was looking for an alternative to a traditional butane candle lighter and decided to try these. They take a couple seconds longer than a traditional flame to light the wick, but they work great. It's nice that there is no flame to heat the edge of the candle holder and they came ready to use already charged. The charging cord is pretty short (8 inches or so) but it was nice that it was included. The flexible lighting head is great and the handle has clear charge indicator lights and feels good in the hand. I recommend! Read more
