These chair cylinder shaft clamps are great items. At church, we have three high-back swivel chairs in the sound room. The lift cylinders in all of them have gone bad. These clamps fixed them all. There is no sinking and no slippage. And recently, the cylinder went out on my wife's office chair at work. I got a second package of these clamps and fixed it as well. Here's the deal. Most people don't need to adjust their office chair more than once. So losing the quick up and down adjustment is no big deal. Plus, replacing cylinders can be extremely difficult on some chairs without damaging the base. And for certain chairs, the cylinders are very expensive. These clamps are a quick fix that seem to satisfy most users. I'm keeping some spares on hand from now on. They are that useful. All five stars from me. Read more

This looked like a great idea. I took the chair, adjusted it to a usable height and applied the clamp. I tightened it until the bolts would no longer turn. First time sitting on it and it sank very gently to a full down position. Once removed, the one of the blue clamp liners had a little damage along one edge. I still think it is a great idea. I was tempted to try it again by lining it with a different material such as rubber from an old inner tube. I think it may be better to simply replace the piston. Read more

This is a good design, easy to install, fits great, nice stainless steel. I needed more than one to stop my 35 year old Stickley swivel office chair from sinking. BUT - after a week of use, including swiveling, the little blue PTFE liner was shredded, rendering the unit useless. Oh well, kudos for an innovative design, but for me it was a failure. Read more

I hate that those adjustable office chairs never seem to hold when they are lifted to the highest position. I can't tell you how many times a day I have to readjust to raise my chair up where I want to be. I got this to stop ending up on the floor in my chair. Works great my chair doesn't move down anymore. I never adjusted my chair lower so I don't have a problem with it now being fixed at the height I have it set to now. Read more
