I've purchased replacement heads on Amazon several times, the last ones lasted over a year. I stumbled upon these when my old ones finally caved. Right out of the package I had high hopes, they were literally identical to my older ones. The disappointment came when it immediately popped out. I checked every millimeter and again, it matched up. I ordered this blade replacement package after part of the covering on my Freebird razor snapped off. I was a little skeptical when I placed my order but I have been pleasantly surprised. While the packing is no frills (Ziploc baggie and shrink wrapped shaver heads), it's a decent enough product for the price. Right out of the package, each shrink wrapped blade unit has a slight sheen of oil on it which is easily wiped away with a paper towel. The blade connection fits snuggly into my Freebird with a satisfying click, and the shave is close and satisfying. Cleaning is straightforward and unlike the centre blade on the Freebird, the centre blade on this off market has little lugs that fit into slots and that then needs a tiny turn to lock it into place. While brand-wise this is NOT a Freebird blade unit, for the price it's an acceptable alternative. SHAVE QUALITY: I'm nearly 62 and I've been shaving my head since 1997. I've used wet and dry shavers, standard blade and electric, and some shaves have been better or worse than others. Following a recent stay in hospital, during which I didn't shave my head for three days, I shaved with the blade unit being discussed here and the result was a close, clean shave the likes of which I've not felt before. This blade cruised through three days of stubble like it was nothing. Even though this blade package is NOT a branded match to the Freebird system, I found the shave on both my head and face to be close and satisfying, and again, for the price (compared to the $25 for one branded Freebird blade), this is a no brainer.
