I've been using Gillette Atra two-blade pivoting razors for decades and was happy with everything about them except the ridiculous price. Seriously, razors can't possibly cost more than a dime or so each to mass produce! These Taconic replacements shave just as well as the OEM razors, just a bit differently. So I somewhat had to relearn how to shave since the speed and attack angle on these was different. But I get just as close a shave, possibly closer than OEM with that third blade; I just have to shave more slowly and reapply shaving cream more frequently. I have fairly light beard growth daily and I've been using the same Taconic cartridge for one month without problems or scratching and am still going strong with 29 cartridges left to go. (I could also easily get a couple of months out of an OEM cartridge). So, basically, shaving is now costing me almost nothing. Just like it should! The little lube strip is useless, but I hate the slimy things anyway. Don't know if it is a fake lube strip or if they are old stock and the lube has dried off. Plus their orange color perfectly matches the color of blood mixed with shaving cream, which freaked me out a couple of times early on! Also, on Amazon it says they are Taconic, but there was nothing on the razors or on their clear plastic holder racks by way of name or brand or place of manufacture. They came with no other packaging whatsoever, just 6 loose five-packs tossed into a thin wall plastic shipping bag. I was expecting damage when I tore open the plastic bag, but they were all fine. If they are knock-offs or imitations, they are good ones, at least the ones I got. Definitely 5 stars. In fact, after several months of use I actually find them better than OEM. Can't speak to overall quality control per some of the other low reviews here. But mine shave closer than OEM with that third blade and so far are lasting just as long as the OEM ones ever did. I just bought a Gillette Vector (formerly called Atra) razor for my son on Amazon so he can use these blades too. Say goodbye to outrageously priced OEM replacement blades forever! Read more

Many complain these blades don't stay as sharp as brand name. Given that Brand Name are 10 times the price then if these blades last 1/5 the number of shaves then you are making the right choice. They fit my Gilette Atra razor without a hitch and give a nicer shave than disposable rasors. Read more

I was disappointed when I couldn't get Wilkinson double blades and was unhappily using Atra. The Wilkinsons lasted two or three times as long as Atra. I ordered the Taconic triples and love them! They outlast any of my big name doubles or triples. Keep it up, please. Read more

These blades are much less expensive than the manufacturer's blades, so it should be no surprise that the quality is not the same. I couldn't resist trying based on the price and reviews, but I will not buy again. They are relatively sharp when fresh out of the rack, but no where near as sharp as Gillette. Unlike the manufacturer's blades, you will feel stubble remaining on your cheeks after you use these, even on the first shave. I have moderately tough facial hair, and I need to shave daily. When I use the Gillette blades, I look clean shaven for the whole day. With these, I begin to get a noticeable shadow in the mid-afternoon. These also don't retain their edge for more than two or three shaves and need to be changed much more frequently than the Gillette blades. Another annoyance is the plastic strip directly above the blades. It bleeds orange dye. Don't leave the razor on the vanity surface while it's wet - it will stain.
