This is my first experience with sugar wax. I've used hard wax previously and had good experiences with it. I had no real idea how to use this though, and unfortunately it doesn't come with an instruction manual. The kit comes with the sugar wax, fabric strips, and wood applicator sticks. It leaves the rest entirely up to you. This is great if you know what you are doing already, but I did not. I won't blame the manufacturer of course, but I needed to put in a bit of effort to learn how to use sugar wax; it takes some technique to get right. After a little bit of research and some trial and error, I think I figured out the technique and am able to use this how it should be used. It works really well and I do like how it works. Once applied correctly, a quick pull gets most or all hair in the area where it is applied. After the first pull, feel the area for any remaining hair or move on to the next patch and just reuse the same bit of wax for the whole session! That's the best part - a relatively small amount of wax can be reused repeatedly for a whole session and remove hair across large patches. Once you have completed the session, you can wash all the wax off with just warm water. Since it's sugar based, it dissolves in water and cleans easily. The whole process takes some technique, but once you learn how to do it, it ends up being pretty simple and easy. I still like hard wax for small patches like facial hair and nose/ear areas, but I think I'm coming around to sugar wax for larger patches of hair because of this kit. Read more

This uncoated sugar wax kit is a really solid option if you want to try hair removal at home without going to a salon. Everything you need is included, and it feels simple and beginner friendly right out of the package. The wax itself has a smooth, honey like texture and spreads easily without being overly sticky or messy. One of the biggest advantages is that it works at lower temperatures, so you do not have to worry as much about overheating or burning your skin. That makes it a lot less intimidating if you are new to waxing. I also like that it comes with wooden applicators and strips, which makes the whole process more convenient. The strips grip well and help remove hair cleanly from the root, which means smoother skin that lasts longer compared to shaving. With a little practice, you can get really consistent results. Another detail worth mentioning is cleanup. Since it is sugar based, it is much easier to wash off compared to traditional wax. Warm water does the trick, which saves a lot of hassle. If you are looking for a cost effective, beginner friendly waxing kit that still gives solid results, this is a great choice. It is simple, effective, and a nice way to get salon like results at home. Read more

There is no enclosed instructions and you have to refer to the instructions on the amazon product page or instructions provided by other product-resellers. The bottle is labelled "Uncooked sugar". I would have preferred much better labelling such as "sugaring paste". And no listing of ingredients used. I have used traditional waxing for hair removal. Using this product- sugar waxing approach, I do embark on a new learning curve. Over time, I do like this. Find the cleanup to be easy as the paste can be cleaned up easily using warm water and does not leave any residue. The paste is gentle on my skin (less redness on my skin) and is effective in hair removal. There are many equivalent products available and pricing may be a factor in the purchase! Read more

A note about Amazon Vine: I receive products through this program in exchange for providing truly honest reviews. It's worth mentioning that these products aren't truly free - Vine members are required to pay INCOME tax on all items received. Because of this expense, I'm selective about what I choose to review, requesting only products I genuinely intend to use. This is relevant as I have no reason to provide inflated ratings simply because I received a product at no upfront cost. When I rate highly, it's because it genuinely performed well for me or serves its intended purpose. Products that fail to meet reasonable expectations will be evaluated accordingly. Without further ado, here's my review of the QingSKyue Sugar Wax: I have never waxed hair before, so I came into this as a complete beginner. The presentation of the product is less than stellar - it's just a jar of wax material inside a cardboard box with some popsicle sticks and fabric strips. No instructions are included. I looked up the listing and found a random video to figure out what to do. I tested it on my arm first. ALL of the hair on my forearm was removed wherever the product was applied. It worked great. The next morning, with new confidence and a squeaky clean face, I applied the wax to my upper lip, pressed the material, and let rip. This time, only some of the hair was removed, some being more left on my face than was removed. I tried a second time and saw no difference. It was not as effective on my face as it was on my hairy forearm. My natural hair color is blonde, so the hairs on my face are also blonde - I'm not sure if that matters, but it might. The wax didn't grip facial hair in the same way. My arm hair was longer - but the upper lip hair should have been enough to grab. The application was a little messy, but I'm not sure if that's my inexperience or the product itself. For a first-time waxer, the complete lack of instructions was frustrating. It did seem like a great idea, and I understand why people wax instead of shave. But this didn't work well enough for my upper lip to make it worth continuing. At the time of this review, this 10.5 oz jar was listed at $9.99. I hope this review has been helpful to you. Read more
