Purchased this for our 16 gal reef tank to keep the critters in and the cats out. The grids were easy to assemble and cut fairly easy with a razor blade. Go slow and cut from the bottom side so the thicker top is the last part cut or you risk snapping another grid along with it. Took some time, but were able to cut around our cords, light fixture and skimmer to give it a nice snug for. The clips to secure it are of good quality and are wide enough for a tank with a lip. My only complaint is I wish they it came with skinnier clips for a rimless tank as these stick out more than they need to for my tank. However, I was able to secure my tank for a fraction the price of a custom lid so I really can’t complain! Read more

I love that it can be joined together or cut to any specification, and easily customizable to any tank. I found it hard to cut with scissors, so I snapped each slat off with a plier (which works better than cutting anyway because it doesn't leave sharp edges). I like that it has holes for light and air. It is pretty sturdy and fits my tank well. Overall, it is very worth the price as you get four pieces which can be joined to fit a big tank (or backup in case it breaks). Read more

This is a solid item and worked well for my needs, however, you absolutely will NOT be able to cut this plastic with scissors. You'll also need zip ties to connect pieces that may not line up perfectly. It is very hard and very thick. The pictures show it being cut with scissors but I needed special cutters to cut it to the size I needed. That also left sharp protruding plastic on the edges. Other than those downsides, it was a perfect solution for my tank. I needed to be able to hand build a lid with lots of cutouts for my pothos that grows out of the top of the tank plus the equipment. These screens are great. I have a standard 10 gallon tank for my betta, with the black frame on the bottom and top of the tank. I was looking for a customizable cover that would be strong enough to hold my cat if she jumped up there. I used some heavy duty shears to fit two screens to a perfect sized cover that sits flush to my tank without needing the clamps. For a frameless tank, you would need the clamps. I was able to clip out around my pump, tubing, cord for my heater, and for my clip on plant light. I love that the pieces snap together as well. It’s super functional, you can make it whatever size you need for a perfect fit, and it’s good value for your money. I had a good bit leftover if I need it in the future. Read more
