Appropriate kit and decent quality filter baskets
I had to do some fuel injector service on my '99 F150 (5.4L). These work for Bosch EV1 injectors; too bad it isn't stated anywhere. I even bothered to email UREMCO to ask for more details on their various kits and their fitment - a cross reference, general guide, or anything. I did get a response (actually pretty quickly, and on the weekend) but the reply said to just let the Amazon Vehicle Fitment check for my vehicle. I any case, I got this set to give one a go before I buy more for other vehicles I expect to service. This was a good quality kit, as good as any other kit I've seen. This is the first one where baskets were available, and the reason for buying this kit. These baskets are slightly shorter than the ones in the stock FI. However, they went in alright, and did not negatively affect flow. The baskets pressed in with what felt like an appropriate amount of pressure. However, without any guides, documentation, etc, it's hard to know. The pintle cap and spacer material seemed to be the same as what was used on original. The fits felt the same. The o-rings appear to be vitreon; the OEM were a different color and may or may not have been vitreon but I would use vitreon any day as a replacement. Just a tip... if you're snapping on the pintle cap and feel a little click as it goes on, but there's still a bit of space, that cap isn't all the way on. Give it another press. Use meat of the palm of your hand and put a little bit more push on it. You should feel a firmer snap as it goes the rest of the way on. There should then only be a little bit of play between the cap and the o-rings. You'll get used to the double-click as you get in the groove of pressing them on. It would really suck to lose your pintle cap in the intake! Read more
