However, the mat doesn’t lay completely flat and tends to develop creases and waves, especially after folding it for storage in the included bag. These wrinkles can collect water and debris, which is annoying during cleanup. The heat resistance seems solid since I haven’t noticed any melting or damage despite some pretty hot grilling sessions, though I do keep it the recommended 8 inches away from the actual grill bottom. The precision stitched edges have held up well without any fraying or coming apart after months of outdoor use. Cleaning is definitely easier than I expected - even stubborn grease comes off with just soap and water. The foldable design is convenient for storage but contributes to the creasing problem I mentioned. The material feels thick and durable, and the silicone coating has a nice grippy texture that keeps it from sliding around on the deck. One thing that bugs me is that leaves and small debris tend to stick to the textured surface more than I’d like. For the price it’s a practical solution that’s saved our deck from permanent staining and makes post-BBQ cleanup much faster. Would I recommend it?
