I'll first say that as a generic media player for most popular video and audio formats this works great. If you have a video collection you want to watch on your tv, this will do the job and you probably won't have any complaints. That said, I do have a couple major complaints... First, this thing has the loudest remote button clicks I've ever heard. I cringe every time I press a button, and don't even think about using this remote if someone is asleep in the same bed. Second, this box will not support a high capacity HDD, even if it's in its own self powered case. I have a 2TB 2.5" sata drive with a large movie collection that it won't recognize. If I put a 500gb drive in the same enclosure it recognizes it. I don't have a 1tb drive handy to test with so I can't speak to that size. Very disappointing because I bought this media play to replace an old Patriot Box Office which had no problems supporting any drive, but it had developed other problems over the years. Read more

I got this for my tween daughter, who’s really into creating videos with her friends as well as content videos can watch their videos on our huge living room tv rather than always having to watch the final edited version on the video camera or 15 in laptop. Now they get to watch each other’s acting debuts on a high resolution (semi) big screen (I’d say 70 inches counts for something 😂) with the sound projected in higher quality too! Wayyyy more fun! Simple to set up and a small size to tuck behind the tv neatly. I appreciate the fact that it comes with a remote too. That’s a necessity. Read more
