Finally—we have an adhesive for the dash cam that actually stands up to the brutal Texas sun and heat. These 3M VHB sticky pads are built for high-temperature environments and most of our adhesive attempts fail within a year. Once they’re in place, they don’t soften or peel away, even after hours in a parked car that easily exceeds 120°F inside. These pads can handle extremes of cold and heat. The kit comes with four double-sided pads that can be trimmed to size, making them useful for more than just a dash cam—phone holders, magnetic mounts, or even small accessories that need to stay put. Each pad pairs with an adhesion promoter wipe as the surface needs to be cleaned thoroughly before applying. We also wiped the windshield down with alcohol before applying the promoter. Read more

After having my windshield replaced, I put the camera back up using some heavy duty adhesive pads. No matter what product I tried, the heat and sun would always get the best of it until the camera fell down. Turns out, you need the right tool / product for the job. This is it. I cut a strip to size, easy to do with scissors. Make sure to clean both surfaces well. In addition to the included cleaning wipes, i used some additional IPA to ensure any residual adhesive removed. Unlike cheaper brands, the backing film peels away easily, it then bonds to surface great. Just make sure everything is lined up since the moment you make contact, it will grab. Because it is thin, the resultant mount will be wobble free. For environments like a hot windshield, thus is an excellent product. Read more
