Well packaged, excellent instructions. All necessary materials included, with basic tools to put it together (if you have your own tools, they will probably be easier to use, but the ones included will get you there!). This went together very easily, logically, and is as sturdy as anyone could possibly desire. There is room underneath for the 2 underbed containers I use. Best of all, being a lower frame than I had before, I can sit on the edge of the bed now and have my feet touch the floor. I needed to lower our bed about 8 inches so I opted to ditch the box spring in favor of a platform. Instructions are very clear, everything fit precisely and although the package includes a hex wrench I used a cordless impact gun so it only took about 15 minutes to assemble (be careful if using power tools as over tightening will collapse the tubes on top). I was a little skeptical at first about the sturdiness due to the lightweight tubes however once assembled I was pleasantly surprised to find it is very strong. On a side note I found if I reversed the wooden side rails that had a lip to hold the box spring I was able to fit this platform inside the original bed frame so I was able to keep the headboard and footboard. 5 stars for sure on this one! This was not my first time putting furniture together. So, you just have to know that parts will line up. When the L screw passes through the second hole on the P bar it can interconnect to the hole in the middle of the E bar. Also the F bars need the nooks facing each other, on the inside of the frame, to hold the G bar. This is good quality, durable, not squeaky, the right standard size, labeling was good with stickers. This was a nice purchase but 5" was actually higher than I wanted or needed. I ended up donating to Goodwill because it was a huge hassle to try and return it. Even though expensive - to me - I turned around and purchased the 4" and it is perfect height for getting in and out of bed. It is easy to put together. This product has overall great reviews, but I find it useful to read the one star reviews as well. In reading the lower starred reviews, I found people saying the holes didn’t match, it wasn’t strong, it’s not the right size for a queen mattress, etc. From box to complete took me about 57 minutes and I only had one issue (just didn’t read the directions correctly) and suspect that users who scratch their shins probably had the same issue I did with the placement of the top and bottom section screws. I initially screwed them in backwards, but after reading the directions again, reversed the direction and then everything else fit like a glove. If I were using a traditional mattress, I think the distance between the supports are fine. However, I have a new DreamCloud foam mattress and wanted better overall support. In addition to the frame, I bought a bunkie board from Wayfair for $90 and everything is fully supported and fits well. A standard Queen (80x60”) fits right on top and unlike other reviews, the mattress fits snuggly without movement. Before buying, I didn’t think of adding a headboard so I wouldn’t reduce the stars ⭐️ because it doesn’t accept one, but for those looking to add a headboard, you’d have to either mount it on the wall or make modifications to accept headboard hardware.
