After months of searching, I purchased this to replace a 20 year old tired chandelier and FINALLY found the perfect replacement fixture. Some assembly required when removing from the well packaged box. The fixture opens like a fan and you will have to separate each arm to position apart equally. The media could not be loaded. I had an electrician install this so I cannot say how easy the installation is, but it seemed pretty straight forward when I unpacked it. Make sure to buy 40W bulbs. I really like the clean and simple lines this chandelier has. I think the design is actually exceptional. The brushed "gold" finish is pretty close to an antique brass color - see the photo. I think it would work and blend in just fine with any kind of brass or gold fixtures, and would work well in a modern or in a setting with very clean lines and simple decor - possibly even in the right farmhouse setting. It takes 40W maximum bulbs, but of course, most of us are using lower wattage LED bulbs now, so that should not be a problem. The base diameter is about 2', and the height to the top of the black ring is about 28". There is plenty of chain and wiring to hang it from a high ceiling. the ceiling cover plate is black and similar in design to the gold top piece, but much larger - about 4 3/4" wide. I'm so glad they gave it a little flair and didn't make it a flat, round shape like so many are. I think this would look very nice in a smaller entryway, over a dining table, or even in a bedroom with higher ceilings. It comes with all the parts you need to install it, but you'll have to provide your own light bulbs. Read more

This light fixture is the perfect amount of gold to blend my use of lighting colors throughout the house. I have replaced all of the nickel fixtures with black, gold and a mixture of the 2.
