I use minoxidil regularly as I do have thinning hair. I switched to this and have used this for about a month now and I think that the hair regrowth/retention is good. You tend to shed more hair when starting Minoxidil, so did not experience that because I’ve been using minoxidil for some time now. No irritation (redness or burning), but I feel that minoxidil in general makes my scalp itchier. I don’t mean scratching your head all the time, but maybe it’s a little drier. This is the foam version, which is nicer than the liquid as it tends to not run or drip down before I can spread it on my scalp. This also contains caffeine and biotin, but packaging does not indicate the percentage. While I obviously can't attest to long term effects of this, but if you're looking for minoxidil you know what it is. But the reason I've knocked stars off is one for being a poor value when Minoxidil isn't that expensive any more and this is pretty pricey for how much you get. I've had a LOT of hit and miss products and supplements from China with more than a few that I KNOW didn't contain the listed ingredients. When I use 2% minoxidil I get a tingly feeling on my scalp. There is NO WAY this is 5% when I get no such tingle and it might just have no minoxidil at all. I use this to restore my hair growth. It has 5% minoxidil which is the highest strength you can get so it does the job. I was also looking to make this a styling foam since it is advertised as a foam but instead of a pressurized can it uses your own pump action to get the bubbles into the foam. Because of this, the foam is flat and it acts more like a liquid rather than a foam. Spreading it for styling is like pouring a liquid all over your head then trying to style with water. Read more
