Bought this aquarium siphon and I’m happy to report that it sucks extremely well. Like, impressive suction. No struggling, no half-hearted gurgling — just confident, committed debris removal. Gravel? Gone. Fish poop? Vanished. Poor life choices floating in the tank? Addressed. It starts easily, flows smoothly, and makes water changes way less annoying. When doing a water changed I noticed how much debris came up and I would pour the water out of the gravel so I decided to order this the 5ft-s after ordering it cam in 2 days and it does a great job of vacuuming the debris out of my gravel for reference I have a 5 gallon fish tank and this worked wonderfully to note you will have to pump a few times to get the water running, but the water does come out fast, but the water will only come out when it’s facing downwards not when it is facing up but when it started to run fast, I just stopped it with my finger, but it did a fabulous job with the debris sometimes because I take breaks between dumping out the water the siphon I did have to pump a few more times to get it running again, but it worked really great and I got all the debris out. It sucked up the debris wonderfully. Also, it is so easy to assemble just to make sure with the ball that you squeeze, you have it in the tube the right way or it will be a pain to get out but that was my fault for not reading the instructions correctly. The clip worked great against my tank and the 5FT – S was perfect for my size aquarium. One more thing for the people that have live plants. It did not suck up the gravel or mess up the way my plants were planted in my tank. UPDATE: it’s been 3 weeks and I have used it twice and it has worked good. Definitely works well at removing water and debris but not that good at re filling your tank sense it works off gravity, good price for an easy to use siphon to get rid of fish poo. Read more
This 7 ft siphon was just the right size to keep it in off my carpeting and long enough to stretch onto another tiled floor in the kitchen. It works very very well and if the quality keeps up I would definitely order again. The clip makes it SO MUCH easier to keep the hose in place in your bucket. it was easy to assemble, almost didn’t need the instructions. this is VERY beginner friendly and works like a miracle if the place you’re putting the water into is lower than the tank. the 5ft-S size was perfect for me! but i could benefit from a longer one as well! you only have to pump the ball once or twice to get it started and then it runs by itself! you can always stop it with your finger if you want. So please note that I use this in a fish bowl. Yes I know a fish should not be in a bowl or in a cup but for now I am limited and it's accommodation. Also don't kill me because I have to buy necessity of the circumstances to change the water. So when using this I realize in the Fishbowl that it acts more as a vacuum especially on the gravel then a siphoning to change water in the Fishbowl. Yes I do realize that my situation limits the functionality of the product due to its small size and the tricks that can be done in the tank such as the insertion method trick can't be done. But for those who have small fish bowls or containers this is harder to use for siphoning water as there is limit as well and it sucks more of the bottom like a vacuum however I will use this whenever I get a 10 gallon tank for my fish again and change my review if needed. However I will be setting up my fish tank to be self-reliant so I would not I assume change the water as it will be self cleaning via bacteria and other organisms as well as the substrate and plants. yes I know that changing the water in an aquarium is not beneficial for the fish. Lastly this particular siphon was on Amazon more than half cheaper than the local fish store which was charging about 20 bucks for it. Read more
This siphon vacuum has made cleaning my fish tank much faster. The 5ft hose gives plenty of reach without making a mess. It does a great job pulling debris out of the gravel while leaving the gravel itself behind. Suction is strong and consistent once it gets going.
