These bulbs were one of the best purchases I've made. I live in one of the areas affected by the recent ice storm, and these bulbs provided my mom and me light that we wouldn't have had without them. I plugged a couple of them into lamps, and when the electricity went off, they kept burning. The sockets provided kept them charged and gave us light wherever we needed it for the three days we spent without power, and the hooks made it easy to hang them in any room they were needed in. These are amazing, I've shared them with everyone I can think of! They made such a difference during the last power outage that I ordered an extra set. They're incredibly bright, and connect to your existing lamps/switches. I'll be putting these new bulbs in bathroom, bedroom, and closet lamps. I haven't needed to use these yet but I did charge all of them and put them in the little hook that comes with them. I have them in my emergency box. They will come in handy when power is lost at night. I can also see a use for them in camping. It is just very handy. The light is very bright. It is compatible with any screw-in light and charges in 8 hours, at least that is what I did to make sure it was fully charged. There is no way to see if it is fully charged and it would be nice if they had some indicator of this. I can't speak to the life span, as this is the first charge and I haven't needed to use them yet. Read more

These work gets when the electric goes out and last longer than I expected. They are bright so you have the same light as if the electric didn't go out. They work off the battery for several hours. you need to have the electric source turned on then when the electric goes out the battery kicks in. So I use one light source then when that fades turn on another one. I really like these. I don't have to sit in the dark. I use them in lamp and just screw them in. The battery is charged by it being in the light. worth every cent if you don't want to be in the dark when electric goes out. Read more
