I purchased these for use at the short stairs at the end of the patio - i need two, placed in the vertical steel pipes that hold the hand rail. They are primarily for safety - to provide notice that there are stairs and the patio does not go to the backyard without stairs These are bright enough for the purpose - on the pipes at about 3 ft above the stairs they send enough light downward to provide visibility. I can't predict lifetime. This is Tucson, Arizona - solar lights last two - three years before the sun destroys the solar panel. I now have spares - and can replace them one at a time with matching lights when needed. If this company has improved sun protection I'll have these longer - but at six hours a day of bright sun I can't expect a longer life and may be pleasantly surprised. I add that they look good on the patio stairs. Read more

Very happy with these lights, I actually put them on my metal fencing around my pool and they light up reliably and very brightly! I also have a nice design. Solar has come a long way! Read more

We've only had 1 malfunction and I think it's because a branch in our yard fell on it during a storm (understandable). Other than that they have been bright and reliable. They pick up sun even when it's semi-sunny outside and last almost all night. The light is warm and not annoyingly stark white. They really warm up the ambiance in our garden area and could see us just as easily using them on a pathway. Easy to install. Read more

We used these lantern lights to line our sidewalk up to the house! They look very nice. I recommend these! Read more

Do not buy this product. The spikes are so short that they get stuck in the ground below the surface. The shafts are so flimsy that they crack when you gently push the lamp into the ground and trying to straighten it. Very poorly made and poor design. The instructions are in garbled English, but are not really needed. I miss my old path lights, which lasted for about five years. These are not even good for a single day. Read more

The electronics and design seem to be good quality, but the plastic is junk. Lightly bumping them snaps the plastic square tube. The point that goes in the dirt is not a solid press fit so high winds will blow the light off and you'll never find the spike again. You could glue the spike but the manufacturer should have considered this. Read more

I use these to light up areas of the yard for my dog since I don't have a back porch light. They're just bright enough that I can see her and make sure she's done her business, and low level enough not to disturb the neighbors. I've had them nearly a year now and with some light maintenance (wiping the solar panels) they still perform like new, so it seems like they will last a long time. I do wish they were a bit taller, as sometimes we get a lot of snow, but they're still a good size. Read more

I put these out in my front yard right after receiving them. They looked great, charged fine and put off a decent amount of light. But now 2 months later nearly half are broken. If you look at the picture I've attached to my review you can see one I've shoved into the ground by its base because it's broken and two laying on the ground because they've recently broken. They are splitting around the base where the stake and the light join together. That is a major bummer. If you're looking for something with longevity, skip these. Read more
