I got these deck hangers for home decor skateboard decks. I put them going up my stairs, so they had to go into the drywall. The only reason for the 4 stars is because the drywall anchors that come with the hangers are pretty cheap and flimsy, otherwise these would be 5 starts all the way! I went and got thicker anchors that screw into the drywall which are amazing (cheap at any home improvement store for a bag)! Each hanger does take a few minutes to assemble (all pieces are separate), but once they are tightened up, they are very sturdy. 3 screws for each hanger. They are adjustable as well, meaning they come with nuts that go on the grip side of the board which helps with the sturdiness and closeness to the wall. Make sure to use a leveler before putting holes in your wall to ensure that your decks hang straight. Once mounted, they are very sturdy. They are on my stairs, so they do get bumped into....but they barely budge if they do get bumped. Hard to beat the price as well. I will be buying more......if my wife will let me lol. Read more

These work pretty well. I have twelve of these mounted with no major issues. I would say they are a bit long and yes they can be cut down but still a lot longer than needed. I mounted slightly different using extra nuts to sandwich the boards to ensure they do not move. Read more

I recommend installing into wall stud and using both screws for the base. I installed bases 23" from ceiling for reference. The long board could have been mounted a little higher to make up for length, but it's okay as is. Get a stud sensor to find where studs are at. These aren't expensive. One suggestion to manufacturer is instructions show to install base on wall with pointed end up, but I recommend installing base with flat part on top (see pics). Boards/complete decks aren't terribly heavy but over time they will be exerting pressure downward. Installing base with flat side on top allows you to use a level and will provide a more secure mount over time since pressure on wall will be exerted downward over more surface area. Snug up deck posts using 7mm wrench after you get base mounted to wall. Don't over tighten as this will cause the posts to cant inwards and may affect fit thru board. Place hex nut on post 3/4" from end for decks and 1" to 1.5" for complete boards with trucks. You can remove two screws and nuts from truck and install deck posts. I kept screws and nuts in small plastic bag attached to post behind board. If installing board with trucks/wheels, install washers and security nuts (step 4 of instructions) and snug up inner hex nuts (installed in step 3) from behind board.
