I live in Florida where heat drains batteries faster than you’d think, and last week my 10L diesel truck decided to die in a parking lot at night. No other cars around, no one to give me a jump. Pulled this Soulor out of my trunk, hooked it up in under a minute (cables are heavy-duty and clamps feel solid), and it fired right up on the first try. The 6000A peak really delivers – no hesitation, even on a big diesel engine that’s been sitting. The built-in 160PSI air compressor is a game-changer too. After the jump, I noticed one tire was low from the cold front we had. Inflated all four tires quickly with the auto-shutoff feature – it hits the exact PSI and stops, no guessing. It's a little emergency tool basically! It's a light! The light works alright, it's not crazy bright but it is useful in the dark for sure. It will light up enough to see things in the dark if your having car issues or if there's an need during any emergency. The light lasts to a long enough time to get through a night if that's all your using it for. The battery starter works for cars batteries that aren't toast. We actually have a battery that is like toast and we still need to boost it with a battery pack we got from a shop. It did work to jump start a couple of peoples cars out here in our lot this winter. So it works to a degree just probably don't want to rely on this for a battery that needs replacement. The light function is solid white or flashing red or flashing blue/red for emergencies. There is an air compressor and it works pretty well. For the little bit of use we have had with it being a couple of jump starts, we tested it on a tire and filled it to the recommended air pressure and also have turned the light on several times and it's not needed charging yet. You can fill car tires, motorcycle tires, bicycle tires and it's also useable with balls. The whole thing comes with a manual, jumper cables that are very small, a little hose to fill tires and different tips to access different types of tires/sport balls. It comes with a carrying case to keep it together. It is extremely portable and served as a good emergency tool if your on the road or just drive around a lot. I have mixed feelings about this jump started, because there's lots of good mixed with some bad. The compressor fills tires relatively quickly, but has to be reset to PSI (it defaults to AUTO/BAR) every time you use it, including if it times out while you're moving from tire to tire. It takes 3 push and holds on the mode button to get it to PSI from BAR. If you're filling up bicycle tires, it takes another 3 quick pushes on the same button to get it set back to bicycle mode. Then, you have to set the PSI to the desired amount again. You have to do that EVERY TIME it powers off. Really annoying. Once you get it set properly, if fills the tire fairly quickly, and it's VERY accurate, within less than .5 PSI on auto tires, but a little less accurate with bicycle tires (within about 1.5 PSI. Battery life while using the compressor is questionable, too. I filled 4 bicycle tires and 4 car tires, with a total run time on the compressor of less than 5 minutes. The battery showed 2 bars down, which is about 1/2 charge left. That's excessive, when compared to my other jump starter/compressor of roughly the same specs. And it took quite a while to recharge. But here's something interesting: I had to use the jump start function on the electric start for my 7.8 HP generator (the battery was completely dead). It was a little difficult to figure out how to get it to set to jump start mode. I plugged in the jump cables, which caused the lights (red and green) on the small black box that's part of the jump cables to flash, and it wouldn't crank. The instructions tell you to push the BOOST button 3 times to go into boost mode for that issue. The button is not on the main box, but is actually on the little black box that's part of the jump cables (with the flashing lights). Once I figured that out and got it set to BOOST mode, it cranked the engine with plenty of gusto. I had to crank it a lot to get it started, so I figured it probably had a major impact on battery strength, based on how fast the compressor ran it down. I brought it back inside and plugged it in to charge it, and it was only down 1 bar. Also, it charged fairly quickly. It's hard for me to believe the compressor takes more power than is required to crank my generator. Also, the unit I compared it to is a good deal less expensive and doesn't have the above mentioned problems. So, as you can guess, I wouldn't recommend this unit, as there are others out there for a cheaper price and fewer issues to deal with. Read more
