I’m giving this a five star rating. This same table would cost double or triple what I paid here. The table arrived within 3 days. There was minimal damage to the box and none to the table. It looks more expensive than it is and it is very sturdy. Unlike other tables, the legs are truly metal. It is the perfect length and the wood color/tones do not clash with other woods. That being said, I wanted to comment on some of the reviews. First, it is true that the boards don’t align perfectly. Temperature can cause wood to shrink, swell, or warp. If possible, lay the wood out in the room where it will live for a few hours. A whole day would be ideal. Also, it is true that there can be a gap. I think this goes back to wood warping/swelling. Tip: if you have clamps wide enough, use them to clamp the boards together. If you don’t, press one board against a wall. When you add the dowels use weights to push the two boards together while you screw in the wood pieces that connect the two boards. Giving the wood time to adjust to the room temperature and “squeezing” the wood together made a big difference. Other considerations: the screws are a pain. This is because the tops are hexagonal shaped so tightening and loosening is time consuming. Also, I would recommend laying the metal on the boards to do a dry fit before connecting the pieces. I screwed my pieces together in the wrong direction and had to unscrew them all to fix it. The dry fit will give you a visual and ensure that you connect the metal pieces together correctly before screwing them to the table. Also, there are minor scratches. However, given the price point and the fact that it was shipped, that is understandable. I’ll go to HD and buy a filler pen to fill in the scratches. I’m very happy with my purchase! Read more

Perfect dining room table. Assembled it myself - would be much easier with extra hands. Main downside is that there’s no guide marks or holes for hardware, makes it a little difficult to put together. Only reason it’s not 5 stars for me. Well worth the money though! Sturdy, thick, hasn’t scratched at all yet. Some reviews talk about the space between the two slabs - it doesn’t bother me at all. I think it adds to the look. Looks easy, it wasn't. Came with instructions for benches. (None for table) Legs and only 4 wooden dowels to hold it together. That would have been fine if screws and holes in the legs matched up and those that did needed the strength of Hercules. Tons of hardware left, 3 pieces that had no where to be put. They have screw holes but... I feel if this table is moved in the wrong way it will split right down the middle. Instructions may have helped but i don't think so. Extremely disappointing. Caution! Inspect the table before you build it. I did not. After spending a couple hours figuring out and building the table I then noticed the scratches and a divot. Building it is not very intuitive and lacks the predrilled pilot holes for all the pieces they want you to hand drill into the table. Not a good space in the center for 2 chairs on each side and leg room. Very pretty table, for the price the trade offs of the negatives evens out. Customer service and communication is efficient and fairly fast through Amazon chat services. This direct communication with the seller was very helpful and were able to solve my damage issues.
