I moved my office to an upstairs bedroom where it can easily reach 80+ degrees in the summer. Even with a ceiling fan the heat can be a bit daunting. This portable A/C unit does a pretty decent job at keeping the area tolerable. For reference, the space is about 375 ft. sq. or 3,300 cu. ft. and there are four 34"x60" windows (2 south facing). I can close off 75 sq. ft., if needed. In the heat of the afternoon it can take about an hour to cool the space (if I close the door at the bottom of the stairs. All that to say it does a pretty decent job cooling my space. Installation was more about removing the packaging than actual installation. The panel to which the exhaust connects did not want to fit/stay in my window so I did have to do a little creative blocking, but it stays now. The controls are pretty simple to use and the remote control is simple and intuitive. Overall, a very good option. Read more

It has good quality, is compact, and easy to install. The remote control works very well, and it comes with everything needed for installation. Although it’s a bit expensive, it can easily cool a bedroom. I definitely liked it, and it has solid quality. It would be even better if they added a smartphone app for control. Read more

A powerful portable A/C! This is a great performing inverter style A/C unit, with a small size and big cooling output. I am using this for a garage area and it does an amazing job, being able to bring the whole area down to about 68°. It is far more impressive than i imagined it would be, ending those hot sweaty days in the garage. It will cool the area down form the mid 80s to about 70° in about an hour, and it keeps it cool even when opening the door for a few minutes, the recovery time is fast, with me barely noticing a difference. Another bonus is this also brings down the humidity in the garage, and living in Florida, that is a very welcomed feature, and makes the temperature much more comfortable. The unit is quiet, with it running on full speed it is still quieter than a normal shop fan, and not even noticeable over the radio. A great upgrade to my work area and a nice unit to have around for hurricane season! Read more

First of all, this does cool pretty good. We don't have vents in our house so our ac unit is just a window unit built into the wall and it is getting old. We aren't ready to remodel that side of the house so I was hoping to use this as much as we could to save the other one some wear and tear. My husband was able to easily hook it up to the window and the plug in worked in our house. The only problem we had (and it was super windy so that surely didn't help) is that we could fill hot air blowing through the tube and machine from outside when it wasn't in use so it was just making the house hotter. Again, it could have been just because the extreme wind. So we ended up putting it in our garage so now when my husband works out there it will feel much better. It was extremely hot yesterday and it still made a huge difference. Read more

This air conditioner is OK for a SMALL room. I am using it as a dehumidifier in my cellar. It is doing a good job of lowering the humidity level but it doesn't have any way to set it to shut off when it has reached the desired level of dryness. So, I have to go down there and shut it off/turn it on. Seems to me that they could have added that feature. Therefore, 3 stars is all it's getting. Read more

Easy to setup and ease of mobility allows me to place it anywhere I want with ease. My home stays warm constantly and its a bit much at time so I ordered this portable AC machine which has worked out great. The air flow of constant cool breeze is fantastic. It comes with a remote control so I can stay seated at my desk and control it. Functionality is as expected and it functions wonderfully. Keeping the home cool. Read more

Price Around People. This thing is not cheap. Just looking at Menards there is a unit for 177.99 which is a 8500 BTU single vent type. This is an OKAY average unit. Its noisy, and its a single vent. Which makes it pull air from your house to push the heat outside - bringing in the heat from the outside in... Lowering its BTU cooling capacity, while also increasing your electric bill. Don't get me wrong, this is an okay unit. But I would recommend you digging a little bit more before going with this one. This is one of those units that I would shop locally and compare first. Side note: This unit claims to be 1500 watts. From my watt meter, its pulling on average 1790 to 1820. Which is technically concerning if your plugging this in to a standard 15AMP wall outlet. We installed the portable air conditoner in my family room. It was an easy and straightforward process. It is also easy to uninstall it and use it in a different room. I really like the portability and the ease of using it. The conditioner works great and cools the room down fast. The vent direction can be adjusted but only vertically. The flex hose is not very long but enough for the space where we put the AC. The remote control makes it convenient to use the AC without going back-and-forth. The noise level is okay which is similar to a window air conditioner. Overall we are happy with the portable air conditioner. Read more
