Since Apple stopped making the iPod touch, I’ve been casting about for a suitable replacement. I’m very pleased with this. I’ve been using it a lot since I bought mine in May. Good battery life, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functions very well, and while the HiBy music player takes a little tinkering to get used to, I believe it is technically superior to my iPod. Using a guality speaker or headphones or whatever, it sounds really good, and I think you’ll be pleased with either the pre-loaded audio sound profiles, or you can use the graphic equalizer instead. Many of us still think physical media has a place, so since you can set up Windows Media player to rip your CD's and depending on the settings, I think the MP3's it generates actually sound much better than how iTunes does at ripping your CD's--to my ears anyway. Device supports up to a 1 Tb micro SD card, so storage space is not a problem. It picked up my 256 without a hiccup, and they even sent me a 64 GB card with mine. Sweet! For purchasers of these devices, know that when you buy one advertising 64 Gb. of space, they are including a 64 Gb. MicroSD card with it. The device itself only has 16 Gb. onboard memory, but since this unit is only a media player and can't access the Google Play store, this is more than enough. Stick your files on the SD card and you'll be just fine. In settings, you will notice 2 items related to device storage--one called "internal shared storage" and the other called "disk". It's an Android thing, and can help you keep your files arranged and separated. And, should you move your stuff to another Android device, if you have them on your MicroSD card, you just move the card over. Gotta love that. Has a great video player, and the other applications it comes with look to be ready to go. I suspect, like any small device, if you’re using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth at same time, you’re battery will run down quickly. Ditto if screen is running constantly. Hey--my iPod was the same way. With Chrome browser, you should be able to YouTube and stream other fun things you find on the web. Haven’t really missed a camera--yet, and I get why it doesn’t have access to the App Store. While I would be very pleased if it did, I get why they left it out. Better if you got kids, and this is no small consideration. I’m very pleased with mine. Updated 9/17/24 Read more

The media could not be loaded. Bought 3 of these players, two for my daughters and one for my nephew for Christmas. It was purchased exactly 2 months ago. Today, one of my daughters went to turn it on, it froze then the screen completely blacked out. It won't turn on at all now. It was great when it worked. She loved playing music from it. Even the built in speaker was loud and clear. Unfortunately, I have to give it a one-star because 2 months durability is not worth it. Going to reach out to support and see if they can assist. Will update once I talk to them. Update: support reached out. Told me to reset which worked for it to turn on but the touch screen still doesn’t work (see video). They told me to reinstall firmware, when that didn’t work. They basically stopped responding. So disappointed. Read more

My friends laughed at me when I bought this but I LOVE IT! I bought this because I wanted to listen to music and auidiobooks without being interrupted by text/calls. This frees up memory on my phone, does not drain the battery on my phone, and allows me to focus on what I am listening to rather than constantly getting notifications. I really love this thing - it's a bit weighty which I am OK with because I don't want to lose this. I think this is good value for my money and it is super easy to use - turn it on, sign into the apps you want to use, download your items, then delete them off your phone! Sound quality is good - gives an alert if you're turning the volume up higher than the recommended "safe" level - this is to reduce hearing issues in the future (thanks!). Read more

Pro: product works like a smart phone. Touch screen is easy to read, and you can use some apps as long as you have wifi local or tether. The native music player is decent and you can use both internal and external storage. I used this to run music at an affair, and using Bluetooth, I could control the sound from my table. Worked very well Con: 2 items. First, I formatted the included extra card originally to be an extension of the local storage. When I did, the memory still showed the basic memory size. I reformatted as a additional storage card and now just address that card for music. Second, I used a cable to plug into the aux in my vehicle. Worked fine for a while, then just started making odd sounds and skipping. I then used it indoors for the holiday and connected it via Bluetooth to my anker speaker. Connected no problem, but then it would just stop in the middle of a song and I would have to hit play again. This happened 5-6 times in the course of a couple of hours. I really like this thing and two weeks ago would have given it 5 stars. Today I have to give it 3. Read more
