This adapter does exactly what is advertised. I have used it on an original N64 with a NSO N64 controller and the 8bitdo N64 controller. Both paired very easily and worked great. Rumble: I've test around 25 games that have rumble support and some work and some don't. Hopefully there will be an update to make rumble work for every game that supports it. Lag: I ran a comparison test at 25% speed between an OG wired controller and the NSO N64 controller connected via this adapter. I can notice a slight delay when the speed is slowed down to 25%. However, at normal game speed I notice no difference at all. This includes tests with fast and precise games like Perfect Dark and Super Mario 64. Memory Card/Saving: Works very well and it's super easy to switch between rumble and memory card. Saves can also be backed up through 8bitdo's ultimate software app, which is pretty cool. Overall: This is a fantastic product. It's well worth the money. Read more

Haven’t been able to test it super thoroughly yet but first impressions are great. Easy to connect to my 8bitdo modded N64 controller, stick sensitivity seems great using OEM stick (haven’t tried 8bitdo stick yet), and connection is SOLID. I’ve had minor issues with the blue retro adapter when it comes to connection but this adapter seems to have the best connection I’ve seen so far. I walked behind a wall and put the controller behind my back and the connection remained consistent! I will update my review if I find any issues, but so far I’m impressed Read more

The adapter works well with my Nintendo 64 and the switch to allow the memory card function to rumble is easy just hold down l1+r1+up on dpad for 5 seconds which then dongle changes light to blue for memory card and white is rumble their faq or manual is on the website for more info. Read more

All my testing was done with the firmware that came on the device V1.08 so I can't speak for any other firmware version. The first thing I noticed when getting this receiver is the lack of instructions and when I scanned the barcode it was a broken link. I ended up just poking at it and holding down the pair button on my NSO N64 controller and it paired. After that I figured out how to switch between save and rumble finding info online but later realized it's written on the side of the receiver. To do this you hold L + R + Up on dpad for 5 seconds and then you will see the light change colors on the receiver. Note that while doing this these buttons will be doing whatever they do on the game so be aware of this. I only tested this on Perfect Dark and with it I found you had to restart the system to get the mode change so you were not able to use this for saving then go to rumble during game play or vis versa. I used this to play combat simulator on Perfect Dark with 2 others using another brands n64 Bluetooth receivers with NSO N64 controllers for 1/2 an hour or so and they all worked fine. I'm by no means a gaming expert, just an old guy who thinks Perfect Dark N64 was the greatest game ever, but I found it to feel just like playing with a regular n64 controller but with the freedom of no cord which I absolutely love. The other 2 didn't seem to be having any controller issues either so it seems that interference isn't an issue, at least when using another brands receiver at the same time. The saving was kind of clunky as you had to restart system for modes to kick in but I think that's more to do with the 64 then this device. The saves appeared to work and when connected to a computer with USB using 8Bitdo Ultimate Software V2 it appears I was able to back up the saves and find that save file so this looks like a good way to back up saves though I have not tested the saves since manipulating them with the software. Updating the firmware is also easy with the software and it looks like you can revert back to the old pretty easily. Again all my gameplay testing was done with the V1.08 firmware. Over all I highly recommend this reasonably priced receiver for wireless n64 game play with the bonus of being able to save to it. Read more

The receiver has the worst death grip I've ever seen on the controller port and it's completely incompatible with the SummerCart64 Read more

This works very good on the Analogue 3D. So far seems to have better quality control over the BlueRetro clones. Lacks customization features like button mapping and stick sensitivity adjustments. Just has rumble and memory card support. The latency is actually very low for Bluetooth. Paired with the NSO 64 controller this thing works very well. Currently has lower latency than native NSO support on A3D. (They may fix native on future firmware updates). Read more
