This was exactly the type of product we needed (USB-powered LED strip), but in our setup it looked noticeably dimmer than the product photos suggested. The product video on the listing was the most accurate depiction of what the lights look like in real life (in our experience). Brightness (accent vs task lighting): This strip provides a subtle glow, not strong illumination. We were hoping for something bright enough to light up a small cabinet, and this wasn’t it. In hindsight, we should’ve paid closer attention to any brightness/spec info and chosen a higher-output strip for our use case. Color options (RGB limitations): For an RGB strip, the color mixing is “okay,” but yellows/oranges were weak in our experience. We were trying to get a golden/warm white vibe and couldn’t get it to look right, so we used the light pink setting as the closest option. If you don’t care about warm white tones, this may be a non-issue. Functionally (our use case): We installed it inside a retail sales desk to light up the interior where we store cash wrap equipment and supplies. USB power was the whole point (no power outlet available, but our computer has USB ports). The listing does position this more as TV/ambient lighting, which matches how it performs. Lifespan: We repositioned the strip 3–4 times within about an hour and the adhesive still held very well overall. One section lost adhesion after we folded it onto itself (our mistake), and tape solved that spot. Overall: Great price for a starter RGB strip if you want accent lighting. Not the right pick if you need bright, task-level illumination or accurate warm/golden tones. Read more
