Really nice purchase. I’d looked for these for months. Too many choices. I was worried about no-name knock-offs having massive choke points and not functioning reliably. This thing looks great, is externally powered to ensure stability and has an excellent design where it sits nicely on the desk, doesn’t want to move around randomly and the angle works out better than I’d thought it would. Easy to connect and disconnect peripherals. I have not tested the throughput, using TB and USB connections directly on the PC for anything requiring speedy data moves but have had no issue with stability or connectivity issues with any of the many peripherals I have connected through this hub. I bought it to get some easily accessible USB 3 slots on my music production PC to plug in some USB audio gear. Have had zero issues with it. And the LED that I've seen others saying was too bright in their reviews, I barely even notice it. Seems pretty well built and does exactly what it says it does. Read more
It does what is advertised. I've used it for external hard drives, connecting cell phone (Samsung newer models), keyboard, mice, etc. No issues so far with the PC recognizing anything plugged into it. The exception: If the USB port is not plugged in and PC on, it will not continue to power my phones. It will continue to power something really light, like my keyboard and mouse mat that had LED lighting. It also does not have enough power to keep my led lights on my mouse and keyboard (both evga) powered without the USB port. Using it with USB and without the external power does not have this issue. Rating: Would have given 3.5 if possible but decided on full 4 instead of 3 because I do like the styling (looks like the pictures in the ad), the size is great if you do not have a lot of space on your desk and no issues so far with device recognition though the hub. At first attempt I connected via USB Type A to Mac Studio Ultra, them connected Samsung T5 (rated and works well on 5Gbps). Data transfer kept failing with drive disconnects. I then connected to MBP via USB-C ver. 3.1 same drive and same cable. This time it worked as advertised with Read/Write speeds up to 550MBps, cool! I circled back to Mac Studio and connected to one of the Thunderbolt 4 connections via USB-C connection. Hub worked with Samsung T5, SanDisk, and other media with zero issues. So I added this to my desktop so I didn't have to keep resting my bluetooth connection with my headset... I keep bumpin the stick when its in front and don't want to break it and putting it in the back makes It annoying to pull it and plug it back in to reset its connection. I was hoping this would just make that easier.. I was hoping anyways.. It doesn't actually work with the bluetooth device? not sure why its powered and data docked to the computer. It does however work well with adding various sizes of USB data sticks. Just not the main focus of why I got it. So a little disappointed even if it looks nice on the desktop.. UPDATE.. apparently some where I have yet to figure out where but the trouble setup detected that the headset was muting itself when I moved the stick to the dock from the PC. YAY.. It worked for a year, then some of the ports just stopped working for no reason I can decipher. I had to swap ports to get my USB sound module to start working again, and discovered that 2 of the 7 ports weren't working. Read more
This is an attractive USB hub that look nice on my desktop. It also has USB 3.2 connections, so it also has good speed. As others have written, the USB cable that came with it is ridiculously short. But, I knew that from other reviews before I purchased it. I do wish that the hub had a couple of USB-C ports. But that was not a deal-breaker for me. The main reason I purchased this hub over other hubs with similar technical specifications and appearance is the placement of the power and host cord. On this hub, both the power cable and the USB cable to the host PC are in the back. This placement allows the hub to be placed anywhere on my desk without having cords stick out of one side or in some cases both sides - which would completely defeat the aesthetics. Read more
Initially I liked the product; it worked well for my needs. I bought the hub to plug into my M@ Mac mini due to needing more slots for my peripherals. After having the hub's 5V included power adapter plugged in (constantly) as well as the provided USB 3.2 cable going from the IN port (next to the power port) going into my Mac for data transfer - and power apparently - and utilizing 6 of the 7 ports on the hub (for things such as Elgato Wave XLR, stream deck+ and mk2, Facecam, keyboard and wired mouse) after barely 6-months of use either the ports themselves are dying or one/both of the power options is going out - USB or DC 5V power adapter - because at the time of writing this if I even plug in one peripheral, I get constant stuttering from my device due to a inconsistent power supply. If the hub would've continued working as normal, this product would've been awesome as it was before seemingly dying. Wouldn't recommend this product unless you're going to be okay with purchasing a new one every 6-months. Read more
