I use this as mostly a foot rest under my desk so I can sit with good posture at a higher desk and chair. I've also used it as a step stool around the house and as a portable step to help family members with mobility issues stepping up onto higher steps or car seats. It's easy to carry and store in the car without having any legs that stick out. It's sturdy and well made. It's got some weight to it and with the rubber grips on the bottom as well it stays put. The non-slip stepping surface is about 10 1/4 inches by 14 1/4 inches, plenty large for me to step onto without it tipping. The stool could tip if putting most of your weight outside the non-slip area, i.e. stepping with most of the foot on the side of the stool on the 3/4 inch hard plastic edge. Anyone who is at risk of not being able to step into the stepping area may want something else with wider base or legs. But I like this one for my needs. Simple and sturdy. Read more
