The description states that it uses metal sand weight packs. This is gloriously inaccurate. It uses the 2.5lb metal blocks which are so so much better! After receiving this weight vest I was incredibly happy to see that the weights were what I assumed they would be based on other weight vests I've bought. This vest has excellent padding in the shoulders, and is a better vest than what's shown in the photos. I wish they'd upgraded the buckles to metal buckles, as they'll last longer under hard use, which a 35lb weight vest will likely see. The stitching appears to be high quality and the vest has held up well after the first 7 workouts of both treadmill, stair stepper, and pullups. Regarding comfort and fit: the best shifts around more than my other higher end weight vests. It's not terrible, but after 5 miles on the treadmill with a 12% incline, the shifting on my shoulders was enough for me to take notice and wish there were more adjustments than just the belt strap. Speaking of the belt, it was one of the more annoying ones to install. Simply because it's full velcro across the back with both velcro and a pull strap on the front. The back is under a flap as well which adds to the frustration of making adjustments. Once adjusted it's sturdy and won't be shifting on you. Overall I think this is an incredibly well priced vest. The weights alone will cost you twice what the vest price is. Based on the vest i received, I can easily recommend this if you're wanting a budget vest. Read more
I wanted to make my daily walks with the dog a bit harder and this 35 lb vest is definitly doing the trick. The box was way heavier than I expected when it arrived so be ready for that. I love that it uses actual little iron plates instead of bags of sand since they feel way more compact and never leak. You can take them out individually if 35 lbs is too much to start with which is great since I had to drop a few to get used to it. The shoulder padding is thick enough that it does not dig in even after 20 minutes on the treadmill. I am sort of picky about how things fit so it took me a minute to get the velcro strap tight enough so it would not bounce around. It stays put for walking and squats but might shift a tiny bit if you are doing super heavy running. The material feels tough like it wont rip easily. The weights alone are worth it compared to what other places charge. Its a simple piece of gear that works exactly how it should. I use it on my walking treadmill for a little more intensity and it really seems to help with pecs/abs. Read more
This weighted vest is serious business! I honestly am not weak and 35 lbs does not sound like a lot on paper but be careful bringing this package inside because it was shifting around in a larger box and felt extremely heavy! I decided to test it out right away by wearing it while vacuuming just one floor of my house and that is the first time I have ever broke a sweat just vacuuming! It adds such a crazy amount of intensity to normal movements. The vest itself feels really solid and secure once you get it strapped on tight with the buckle. I really like design that allows you to adjust the weight easily too. Its very easy to use. I measured one of the little metal plates and it was 2.2 lbs and you can pull each one out individually if it is too heavy at first. There are four sets of four plates so the math is correct at just over 35 lbs total. I am definitely going to use this on my evening walks to burn some extra calories and I also plan to use it to try and improve my pullups! It is a great value for such a heavy duty piece of gear. The buckle came off after one wear. I now have to take it to the shoe maker to have them reattach it. Very frustrating. Read more
The vest itself is nice. I took a star off because instructions on how to adjust the vest would have been nice and the ad description did say instructions (and workout guide) would be included, but these was nothing in the box but the vest and weights. Being not overly familiar with weighted vests, I looked up on "YouTube" on how to adjust fit. That worked and it was relatively easy to figure out, but wanted a little reassurance since as I said, I was not very familiar with weighted vests. Include instructions and easily 5-Star. Now the good. There is quite a bit of padding in the straps which makes the wearing it pretty comfortable. After seeing the videos of other vest, I was able to effectively fit the vest so that it was very comfortable to wear and didn't shift around doing various movements. Also what is nice is that each weight is cast iron. There are 16 weights at a little over 2 lbs each. The weights are removable so give you flexibility in the amount of weight you can put in and makes it easy to have different weights for different activities or allow you to start with less weight and more up to the maximum 35 lbs.] Overall, the vest is excellent. Look forward to continued use. Read more
This is a quality made vest thats a good size and feels good to wear. The padded shoulder straps makes the vest sit comfortably on you. The removable weights are made of metal (versus sand bags like my other vest), distributing the weight well and arrived already inserted into the vest pockets, which was nice to see. Its easy to add/remove them if you need to adjust the weight. I like wearing the vest when I'm walking on my treadmill; it gives me a good cardio and strength workout. While the vest includes adjustable straps, I don't need to use them on the treadmill; it sits solid on me on its own. The product description states an instruction manual and workout guide is included with the belt, but unfortunately nothing was in the box. I would have liked to have the workout guide. I sent a message to the manufacturer requesting the guide, but no response yet. Slow/no support response does concern me a little if I ever have an issue with the actual vest. Overall it is a nice weighted vest. Read more
