Wow, this box felt way heavier than 18 lbs. It's a good thing this is adjustable because I'm going to need to start low, since i have back issues. The fit is good, and the ONLY thing I didn't like is the placement of the buckle. It's difficult for me to reach because of my back being stiff. Other than that, this vest is perfect for my walks. I am loving this! I like that the vest is 6lbs by itself which is perfect for starting out! You can add weight as you need it up to 18lbs total. I recommend adding 2 weight at a time so you’re even. Each weight is 1.5lbs. The fit is perfect and adjustable. I am 5’4” 120lbs and I have to have the straps pulled all the way tight so anyone smaller might think it’s a little big. It will definitely fit over a jacket. I read that you should t clean it with water so I’ve been spraying a scented disinfectant spray on it and that seems to do the trick for sweat odor and bacteria. This vest takes my daily power walk to a new level, burning calories and strengthening my legs and core. The empty vest weighs 6 pounds, and there are 8 additional 1.5 pound inserts made of iron sand (do NOT use water on the vest to clean it). The weight pockets are both in front and back and the best way to increase weight is to balance them front and back. The straps on the sides can be rather long depending on your own size, and I taped the ends to hold them in place. The added benefit is improved posture, it's just easier to walk with the back straight and shoulders relaxed. Other brands use plain sand and only offer 6 inserts. The media could not be loaded. Theres not really much that a weight vest needs to do, but that little bit is done very well by this vest. I like the sweat resistant material and the ease of use of the clips on either size. I also didnt realize how useful it would be that they are adjustable but it really helps when you want to walk faster and have a tighter fit or just stroll with a loose fit. Finally its very easy to put on since most of the weight ia in the front and the back leaving the shoulder straps to be very forgiving for the big head im told i have and i guess have to acknowledge.
