Functionality: This vest is very easy to put on and take off, adding weight is very easy with the velcro pockets as the weights just slide down into the pocket. Comfort: the vest is very comfortable with a wide shoulder strap and has a thick 1.2" padding which helps when on the shoulders. Weights: the weights are Metal and are in 2lb increments which is better that the vest with the sand. Workout effectiveness: this vest has proven itself for her when she works out, she started out using when she was walking and now uses it when she runs. I’m a 5’8” 225 pound, well endowed, 50s woman. I’ve done 32 miles in the vest at about a 17:30 pace and I usually do 3ish at a go. Many of these miles are at night so I very much appreciate the reflective striping. I love the 2 pound increments. I started at 18 and went to 26. It fits well. I have to wear a substantial bra so the girls are between the front rows of weights or it squishes me. The velcro seems excessive, but no one could fault it is strong and ample. Once I get it on, it stays in place for walking/hiking. The shoulder width and padding are good, but I have to do a rotation of slight movements to shift the weight or it gets uncomfortable (ache not acute). My hiking companion has a love of mushrooms so every time she stops I hinge forward to take weight off my shoulders and that works well to manage comfort even though it’s only 10-30 seconds. Through Amazon, we purchased two, 35 lbs adjustable weighted vest for men. One was purchased for my 15 year old son and the other was for my 52 year old husband. My 15 year old son uses the vest as added weight while running and as well for certain exercises while working out. The vest has been easy for him to use and enjoy. I purchased this vest when I joined a health and wellness program and having a weighted vest came highly recommended. I chose this one because of the great reviews and the price point. I received this vest two months ago and have used it regularly when I walk my dog. It's very high quality and I really appreciate that I can change the weight with the removable weights as i gain more strength and fitness. The only thing that is strange is the velcro wrap around belt. The belt fits awkwardly in the loops at the bottom of the vest.
