I got this as a gift for my boyfriend and he really likes it. The adjustable straps make it easy to get a snug, comfortable fit, and the vest feels secure while working out. Each weight has its own pouch, and since each one is 2.5 lbs, you can customize the total weight exactly how you want. Super convenient, well-made, and great for adding intensity to workouts. I wore this 30-lb vest almost everyday from mid-summer 2025 until December 2025 (there's ice on sidewalks in Colorado now). In the first weeks I worked up from 20 lbs, then 22.5, then 25, etc. Then a few months of 30 lbs almost every morning walking my dog. It's a bit of a challenge to put on unless you have a squire like the medieval knights had to help them put on their armor, but with a little practice you can get the hang of it. Putting on a 30-lb weighted vest is much harder than lifting a 30-lb barbell over your head, because it flops around (hint: use a kitchen counter, bend down, get your head in, then stand, adjust and secure it). But once you get it on, and you've been doing weighted walks for a little while, it's an easy way to turn walking the dog into a mini-workout. It helps burn calories and build up your leg and butt muscles. I'm 66, 6'1", 180 lbs, and my usual weighted walks were 1.5 to 2.5 miles. Not easy, but not impossible. Also important is finding shoes that work for you with the extra weight. If you're north (or is it south?) of age 30 you'll want decent cushioning, but some running shoes have a floaty feeling. Any weight vest makes you a little top heavy, so you need to concentrate on balance at first. That's a good skill to work on too. I've had good results with a cheap Adidas running shoe with the insole ripped out and replaced by a stiff Walkhero Heavy Duty insole (around $fifteen on Amazon) for people up to 220 lbs. You might need to experiment to find what works for you. Bottom line: stop whining, put on the vest (almost) every day (when safe), and put in a mile or three. You'll feel good! Read more

I'm not in the shape I used to be, there, I said it. I've been working on walking 4-5 miles at least 3-5 times a week and wanted something to up the ante. Of course I've seen vests of all kinds all over Instagram, so I thought, let's give this is a shot. After looking at a lot of vests and reviews I knew I wanted a vest I could adjust the weight, and I wanted the iron weights vs sand which I felt would have better longevity. You pay for it, but to me it's totally worth it. After some back and forth with myself I decided to go with the 40lb vest — it gave me the most flexibility to grow into. The vest came with all of the lead weights in their places. They easily slide out of their pockets by giving them a push from the bottom. All of the velcro feels secure, the padding in the shoulders felt ample. The adjustable strap was installed upside down, not a big deal; tore it off the velcro, flipped and reattached. My only beef, if you even want to call it that, is that in order to really get that adjustable strap fully tightened around me the end wraps around the back and doesn't have any real place to secure (unless I overlooked it before I put it on, also a possibility). For reference I'm 5'8", about 165lbs, 36C. And I don't feel like this was a boob crusher either (important for us ladies). I made sure to evenly distribute the weight and it felt very uniform. I took out half of the weight, so roughly 20lbs, and took it out for its first walk. I probably should've started with a little less weight, but man, I could feel it. Really got my heart rate pumping. It never felt uncomfortable on my shoulders, the padding was great, but my shoulders got a little crampy from jumping from zero to almost 20lbs of weight. That's my bad. I forgot to take a photo with the strap attached, I was hot and working on getting it off, but super happy I went with this vest. I'll be able to amp up my body weight workouts as well as my walks. My knees and ankles aren't what they used to be, so I don't know that I'll run with it on, but overall this is just what I needed. Really nice quality. And comfortable. The adjustability is perfect. I am 5ft 4. And 155lbs female. I wear this for my walks and will for weight training too. The straps are adjustable to accomodate my husband too which has a much larger frame then me. Read more

Easy to adjust the weight of this by taking out the packs. It is comfortable and I'm a chunky girl. So I've been losing weight, and I feel like I've hit a point where I'm at a stall. So I figured I would give this a try to get my body to work harder thinking I still have more weight on me than I really do. So to me the workout value of this vest is worth the price. I wear it while I am walking, or doing house work around the house. Very good weighted vest. Read more
