Adult Abraham Lincoln Costume

For an Abe Lincoln school presentation, I bought the Men’s XS for my tall 13 year old son (almost 5’6”) who is between sizes - a Boys XXL and a Men’s S. He is in that awkward stage where he is still a youth but is now taller than some men. He currently wears well a size 20 regular suit coat. The largest youth Lincoln costumes out there are still tailored for shorter adolescents. This costume was the only one that offered a Men’s XS option. It did not disappoint! Not only was it a perfect fit, but it exceeded my expectations for a costume. The outer jacket had an authentic look with its long length, thicker lapels and collar, foam shoulder pads, and well-sewn buttons. The vest comes as a separate piece. The tie and hat polished the look. The tie had a good size Velcro strip so you can adjust it, and it was attached fairly securely compared to typical cheaply manufactured costumes which can rip and fall apart easily after one use. The stovepipe hat is cleverly made with several thick, stiff, sturdy black felt pieces that are easy to assemble and easy to collapse for storage. Note that hat does not match picture; rim is flat and doesn’t curl up on sides but it still presents well. I was hesitant to make this purchase at first but the higher price proved worth the investment as it got my crowd-anxious son excited and gave him confidence for his presentation. Also, as patriots, we will surely be using this costume again in future events which celebrate our great nation. You will need a white shirt, black pants, and beard to complete the Abe Lincoln look, but the costume can also be used for Frederick Douglas or perhaps even Thomas Edison if you just change up the hair piece. I was pleased with the costume as received. You get a hat (assembly required), the long coat, and a tie. No shirt pants or beard but most likely you have black pants and a white shirt. Jacket is not flimsy. If you are looking for an Abe Lincoln costume this should fit the bill. Read more

I honestly wasn't expecting much from this costume, it was not expensive, but my granddaughter had committed to being Abraham Lincoln for a school function and so I bought it. I hoped at least one piece would work. I was (more than) pleasantly surprised to find that the whole costume was well made and fit perfectly! It wasn't even too big which is what I was worried about. It looked good and she was comforable enough to wear it all day. If I need a costume in the future I will look at this company first to see what they have available! Read more

The cons; it does NOT come with a beard (we bought one separate) I must not have read well because I thought it was also going to have like black pants. It only comes with the top hat, adjustable neck scarf, vest and over coat. You'll need a white button up, black dress pants, black dress shoes and a beard to complete the look. The quality isn't phenomenal but it's tolerable. The pros; it's a spandex material so it's flexible. The quality isn't TERRIBLE (it's just not great). I think for the price it's a 3 star. Nice costume, worked well. Did purchase separate hat as one included was flimsy. Costume held up after being worn 3 separate times for many hours and nothing came apart. Pair with white shirt, slacks, fake beard and boots and it looks great. Son got many compliments on it. Read more

I recently bought the costume and the hat that came with the costume is way too small. There is an elastic band inside the hat to help make it fit, but I can't even fit the hat on top of my head. I tried to see if there would be an exchange, but they don't do any exchanges. The clothes also seem pretty cheap and hopefully they will last me through a day.
