It came with a protective clear outer wrap. So I can be reassured no one else has used this serum before. The serum doesn't have any noticeable smell. And so far I haven't experienced side effects except a slight temporary burning if I'm not careful enough applying the serum. The applicator tip though is very fine and very little comes out so it's not difficult for me to avoid this issue. I have already naturally long lashes but I noticed less lash loss and breaking of my lashes. And it makes them look darker too and this after just a week of using.
