I purchased this product because of problem behavior which I needed to correct in my dog. When I received it, I was impressed with the apparent quality and it's performance. However, I soon found out that the clasping mechanism on the collar had a design flaw- it's tolerances and methods of construction are too sloppy, which can cause it to unclasp and fall off. Unfortunately, many dogs if they are bored will then play with the shock-collar and chew on it. This is what happened to the collar (and accompanying shocking mechanism), and the product was ruined and useless. I contacted the company about the issue and told them I was not happy about the design flaw that led to the product's destruction. They gave me a prompt reply, and did not make excuses; they simply told me that they would replace it free of charge. Soon after that, I received a new collar just as promised. I will have to modify the clasping mechanism on the collar to ensure the collar stays on my dog, but that shouldn't take too much effort! If you are aware of this potential issue and take a couple simple steps to correct the design flaw, the rest of the product's performance and quality are very solid. For the price, this collar has a great range a variety of options to use for proper dog training! I love that it has a long range and the option to beep, vibrate, and then shock at varying levels. I have a young boxer so, honestly, he doesn't really feel any of the shocks under level 3. Luckily, he doesn't usually need to be shocked and responds to the vibration (mostly!). It seems to work fine after getting submerged in water for some time and as long as you turn the collar off when not in use, the charge lasts for awhile! My biggest issues with this collar are that it can be a little quirky and there is a DELAY from when you press the button, to when the collar responds. The delay is usually between 3-5 seconds, so if you have a dog that runs or does things that need an immediate reaction, THIS IS NOT THE COLLAR FOR YOU! Your dog will be long gone out of range before the collar even reacts! I have dropped the remote a few times and it then needed to be reset before it would work again, hence the quirkiness. I just received the Aetertek-919c, I am charging it. I wanted to say I have ordered 3 shock collars in the last month. The 2 prior to this one, different brands, were a ridiculous waste of time! One didn't charge at all and the other quit working before I put it on my puppy and both owners manuals might as well been a blank piece of paper. I am already liking this one, it looks and feels good, it came with good instructions AND you can charge both the transmitter and receiver at the same time. It started charging immediately and suggests only charging for 3 hours. I'm excited to work with it and will write in to let you know how it goes. I gave it 5 stars because so far it's doing what it's suppose to do, after what I've been through that's 5 stars to me! I'm back, I have now used this collar for 2 days. It is an excellent product and very easy to use. I have not had to charge it since the initial charge 2 days ago and still shows full battery. This collar is not at all confusing to use and so far all I've needed is the beep and once the vibrate. I am very pleased!! Also I let my dog in the pool with it and it's still working. Had this product less than a week and already having issues. It worked good for 3 days I've been charging it daily and I was training my dog and it was working fine and half way through training I went to beep her and the transmitter just shut off and wouldn't turn back on til I plugged it in... so I did and let it charge for a while and it's still doing the same thing. It shows a full charge but everytime i press the buttons for beep vibrate or shock the transmitter shuts off. Read more

Receiver only held charge for a couple of days. Anti-bark feature activated randomly, so I wasn’t able to use it. Tried to contact Aeterek a couple of times, apparently only possible via email with no response. Then receiver stopped taking a charge. Sent the whole thing back. Not impressed. Read more

We purchased this because it was the only collar that guaranteed to be waterproof, which it has proven to be so far. The one negative is it is difficult to tell if the collar is turned on or off. Today, I took the dog out, and checked to make sure it was on, as it vibrated when I tested it. Well, come to find out at the end of our hike I realized it was in fact turned off (don't know how that happened) the whole time. This is an annoying thing about the collar. Our old collar always stayed on unless there was no movement then it would go to sleep (like a computer). I wish this one did that because I never trust that it is actually turned on, especially since there is such a goofy way to turn it on. Also, the collar itself is plastic and very cheap, and the directions for the thing were not very good.
