I would love to leave negative stars if possible. Previous heater stopped working. Bought this one to replace it and it was a horrible mistake. Worked great the first few days and went to have thanksgiving dinner with the family. I get back and 15 tropical fish of mine were dead. Heater is flashing error codes, I’m assuming some moisture got in and it shorted and shocked all of the fish to death. Parameter are perfect, fish are ALL dead. This heater is horrible and should not be sold. Do not buy this. UPDATE-tested tank with non contact voltage meter and the tank was showing electricity present. Fish were all electrocuted. Unplugged light and bubbler to isolate the source and it was this heater. Read more

Worked great for a year and a half! Then the internal sensor failed…. I have mine in a large tank for a turtle so consistent temperature is helpful but not as deadly as some fish. I set it to 78 and it seemed perfect for a year and a half. Then one day when I touched the front of the tank it felt extremely warm. Like comfortable bath for me warm. The display for current temperature read 77.8 so it thought it was doing the right thing to add a little heat. My partner told me I was imagining things since the display said it was fine. After a couple of days of me thinking it still felt warm and then my turtle acting much more feisty, I remembered I have a point and measure thermometer. (Our other thermometers are either for food or people and I didn’t want to run any risks of contamination). 99.6! I immediately unplugged the heater and am letting it slowly go back down. I don’t think I’ll bother replacing it. But for that year and a half it was great! I’m not sure if it’s a case of cheap parts that aren’t built to last or if it could be due to our notoriously hard water causing scale and buildup that led to failure. Read more

The media could not be loaded. This heater is the best aquarium heater I have ever purchased. It heats up the water pretty fast and maintains the right temperature in my tank. I have these heaters in all of my tanks and my fish stay good and healthy. Love how it shows the actual temperature and what it is set at. Very little fluctuating and holds temp great! A must have for your tanks. I have then in my 55 gallon and my 40 gallon and they are great! Read more
