It doesn't, at least one wash cycle doesn't. There are care instructions that state ironing is permissible on low heat with something overtop. I think that will be the solution as washing it and letting hang in a humid place hasn't removed all of them. The polyester material is lightweight but thick enough to provide some UV protection. The stitching on this was good and there weren't any loose threads. The garment itself is amply sized. Its loose fitting with large open sleeves, and an oversized hood. This is cut higher on the sides and lower in the front but flows nicely. I like the tie at the top of chest, the coverage it provides, and although I won't use the hood often the option to shield myself from the sun is a plus. The hood flows nicely off the neck and doesn't distract when not in use. This works great as a cover-up and looks good too. The print design of this multi-color Kimono styled swimsuit cover-up is very vibrant and beautiful. The hood on the back is cute, but seems uncessary, as it is a bit difficult to get it to stay on the head without holding it down. The long straps on either side at the top of the cover-up is the only way to secure the garment in place. I prefer cover-ups to have at least two closure points, one at the top and another in the middle of the garment. The cover-up measures 33 to 35 inches from top to bottom, which made it hang just above and below my knees, I am 5ft 6 inches. I ordered the cover-up in a US large (12-14), I could have gone with my usual size medium (US 8-10). The garment is 100% polyester, cold water wash and air dry. I'm 5'-7" and a general XL (sometimes XXL top w/shoulders). FWIW I ain't Miss Sexy Showoff on the beach hahaha -- muu-muu's are my idea of perfect coverups ha 😎. That said, in the spirit of adventure, I gave this number a whirl just to check it out for y'all! Here's the scoop: - The fabric is a 100 percent polyester that has a lovely hand and will wear very well. Machine wash cold and line dry. It is a good weight that isn't excessively sheer (I got it in white.) - The hoodie is a big hoodie. It's like the size you see on a prize fighter's robe. This is cute for hair protection -- if you have Big Hair or lots of braids etc, the hoodie is big enough to cover your 'do! - The length is like you see on the models in the pix -- falls about halfway between crotch and knees on me. If you're petite, this would be closer to just above the knee. - I have zero up top. If you've got the big girls AND you're a tall XXL etc, IDK about fit there. - The front drapes REALLY well with just the single tie closure. That said, I would love for there to be two ties if not three so the entire front closed for my modest self. If I was a super seamstress like my Mom, I would add another tie to cover my assets hahaha. But that's truly just me being Miss Discreet -- the designer did a terrific job with the tie placement, and the coverup drapes nicely when tied. - This would be ADORABLE with a pair of those cute white lace shorts!
